Specific duties include, but are not limited to: * Collect and organize shopping carts within the store and retrieve carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas. * Assist customers with the loading of merchandise into shopping carts. Under the supervision of the call center coordinator, the authorization and referral clerks facilitate requests for authorizations and referrals under a providers order for the clinic systems. Duties include, but are not limited to: Receive requests from referring physicians via the electronic medical record, telephone and or fax. Request prior authorizations form insurance companies; schedule diagnostic procedures, appointments as appropriate. Provide information to referring physicians offices and notify patients of covered benefits and scheduled appointments. This dual role serves as Intake Registration Clerk and as a medical assistant for the outpatient clinics. This position also includes functions of cashier, telephone operator, and health information clerk. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS: * High School diploma or GED equivalent.
