About the Role
We are seeking a Centralized Scheduling Specialist to join our Emergency Department team. In this role, you'll be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and compliance with hospital policies. You'll interact with patients, families, physicians, and hospital departments to provide exceptional service and support.
Key Responsibilities
Greet patients and collect/process demographic information
Complete full registration upon patient arrival to the ED
Verify insurance and maintain accurate records
Assign temporary patient identification (ED only)
Recognize stroke symptoms and initiate stroke alert process
Collaborate with hospital administration, ancillary departments, and physician offices
Willingness to float to other areas (Admitting, Business Office, ER) as needed
