Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for an Applications Engineer at our Research and Innovation Center in Middletown, Ohio. This position could be a remote work opportunity in NW Indiana.
Primary Responsibilities:

* Performs engineering activities supporting product and application development.
* Interact directly with new and existing customer technical and purchasing contacts to identify new steel applications as well as new product development opportunities.
* Lead Early Vendor Involvement (EVI) activity, identify applications and product requirements, track material prototyping needs and assure production intent material availability for customer trials.
* Track customer trials and confirmation of application feasibility with Cleveland Cliffs Steel products.
* Internal and customer facing responsibilities for new technical business development and product and material qualification.
* Participate with Research, Products & Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Customer Technical Service and Quality in advanced product planning, pre-launch, and launch support to meet customer requirements.

Requirements:

* B.S. degree in Metallurgical, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in steel applications engineering is required.
* Familiarity with plate, construction, appliance OEM's and market development protocols preferred.
* Knowledge of project management fundamentals, industrial and infrastructure steel applications, and other non-automotive steel applications is a plus.
* This position will require approximately 10% travel.

Essential Functions:

* Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring on safety initiatives, safety regulations, and best practices.
* Gather data for analysis from sources (e.g., injuries, illnesses, near-misses, work orders, incident investigations, inspections, audits, etc.) and develop trend reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene or related field from an accredited college or university.
* Competency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

* The Security Manager will manage the department in a responsible manner and:

Minimum Requirements

* Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field from an accredited college or university.
* Minimum of five years sworn service as a municipal police officer in the State of Indiana; or in a comparable sworn peace officer capacity with a recognized police agency
* Valid State of Indiana Driver's License.
* Self-motivated with minimal direction required for day to day operations.
* Proven communication (verbal and written), analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

* Certification in industrial security management such as the CPP designation (Certified Protection Professional) through the ASIS International organization.
* Five or more years of service in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
* Five years or more of industrial security management experience in a large facility with a unionized work environment.

As a rail shift manager at Cleveland-Cliffs Indiana Harbor, your responsibilities would include planning, scheduling, and coordinating 24-hour railroad activities to provide support to operating departments and a safe working environment for employees.
Responsibilities

* Uphold and enforce safety, environmental, job procedures and maintain general discipline of the crew daily.
* Monitor the operation and intercede promptly with corrective action, coordinating multiple disciplines in the execution of these duties.
* Supervise a turn crew of operating and maintenance personnel in the assigned operating unit in a 24/7/365 environment.

* Self-motivated with minimal direction required for day-to-day operations.
