* Coordinate and resolve daily operational issues in the specified clinical area, while also ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety initiatives.

* Participate in quality initiatives, process improvement and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experiences and patient safety.

Mercy Hospital's 9M Cardiac Stepdown Unit primarily cares for patients coming from the Cardiovascular Surgical Care Unit (CVSCU). This 32-bed unit is currently a high-acuity medical/surgical and cardiac stepdown unit, with plans to transition exclusively into a dedicated cardiac stepdown unit. It provides care for post-cardiac cath lab patients, as well as those with chest tubes, PleurX catheters, and complex wounds. As an RN Resident on this unit, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed.

Part of the new Neurological Institute is a 210-bed inpatient area with enhancements that include modular spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows in all-private rooms, video technology to monitor patients, and a "touchdown" space with computer between every two rooms on our inpatient floors, and relaxing lavender rooms on each inpatient floor to offer our caregivers an area to decompress. Nurses play an integral role in the care of our patients at the Neurological Institute, and we are eager to welcome Inpatient RNs to our team.
Cleveland Clinic's M80 Neuro Transitional Care Unit is a highly specialized and diverse unit that provides treatment for neurological med/surg patients needing both stepdown and intermediate levels of care. This unit commonly performs complex neurological procedures, including intracranial pressure monitoring, seizure monitoring, lumbar punctures and central/arterial line placements. Nurses are an integral part of promoting early patient mobility in this unit, which is facilitated by modern equipment such as ceiling lifts and other devices to ensure patient and caregiver safety. Six months after hire, nurses can float to other med/surg units.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
* Current state licensure as a RegisteredNurse (RN)
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
* New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:
* Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
* Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
* Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
* Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
* Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
* Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
* Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
* Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $23.25
Maximum hourly: $33.50
