Cleveland Construction company history timeline

1980

Richard G. Small and his sons founded Cleveland Construction, inc. in December of 1980 as commercial drywall contractors.

1986

In 1986, Cleveland Construction's first branch office was established in Cincinnati, Ohio.

1987

Palko began his career with The Great Lakes Construction Co. in 1987 as a Co-op student and in his tenure at Great Lakes, has worn many hats.

1997

In 1997, “Richard Maron, a specialist at bringing old buildings back to life,” bid two-thirds of the New England Building to be converted into the Holiday Inn Express.

By late 1997 the third management change in the construction company's history was announced when another young engineer with an MBA, George Palko, was named president and Bruce Gilbert became chairman.

2000

Today, The Great Lakes Construction Co. is positioned to serve clients from its headquarters completed in early 2000.

2008

The National City Bank occupied the banking floor of the New England Building until 2008, when the PNC Bank absorbed the National City Bank.

2013

In 2013, the company expanded into southern Ohio, opening a branch in Cincinnati to better serve it's clientele in that area.

2018

Millennia purchased the building in 2018, originally planning for high-end apartments, a luxury hotel, 400,000 square feet of Class A offices, and restaurants and retail.

2020

2021
