Clever, the identity platform for education, is looking for a Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to drive new growth vectors, deliver outstanding value to our partners, and help every student connect to a world of learning. Today, the Clever platform is used by 29 Million Monthly Active Users and 111,000 schools globally, including 77% of U.S. Schools. A large network of leading EdTech companies partner with Clever to cut implementation cycles and integration costs, provide an outstanding customer experience, and grow their businesses. School systems rely on our platform to power daily learning, secure access, and protect sensitive data. The CRO will be pivotal in growing revenue, positioning Clever in global education markets, and optimizing value for our school and education company partners. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead a world class organization across Sales (new account acquisition), Customer Success, and Marketing. A DAY IN THE LIFE: Strategic Deliverables Define and Execute Revenue Strategy: Develop and lead the execution of global GTM strategies to capture new markets and drive revenue growth, aligning closely with our Product and Finance teams. Executive Thought Leadership: Serve as a key strategic partner on the Executive Leadership Team, providing data-driven insights on market trends, competitive landscape, and operational excellence. Expand Dual Revenue Streams: Strategically grow revenue from our core developer partners while aggressively scaling adoption and revenue from our new district-facing paid products (Identity Management, MFA). Market Presence: Act as a key external representative for Clever, meeting with major customers (districts and developers) and representing the company at industry events. International Sponsorship: Serve as the executive sponsor and driver for Clever's strategic international expansion efforts. Leadership and Operational Excellence Lead a GTM Organization: Provide strategic guidance to leaders across Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing, establishing clear KPIs and managing against ambitious targets. Cultivate High-Performance Culture: Recruit, coach, and assess a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team, fostering a collaborative, results-driven, and high-accountability culture. Operational Discipline: Champion best-in-class processes and operational rigor (the "Excellent Operator") to ensure efficiency, forecast accuracy, and continuous KPI improvement across all GTM functions. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: The ideal candidate is a proven, results-oriented leader with a passion for transforming education. Essential Experience Full GTM Ownership: Demonstrated success owning all aspects of the go-to-market organization (Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing) in a high-growth, high-performance technology or SaaS company. EdTech Domain Expertise (Preferred): Prior sales/post-sales leadership experience within a high-performing EdTech or comparable B2B/B2B2C company is highly desirable. Marketing experience is a significant plus. Growth and Retention Mastery: Proven track record in securing new accounts (landing) and driving growth and retention of the existing customer base, understanding both developer and enterprise sales cycles. Executive Integration: Experience working deeply with sales and product teams to increase deal value and unlock significant company growth objectives. Financial Acumen: Strong history of budget management and setting clear metrics, goals, and objectives to manage against. Leadership Qualities Exceptional EQ and Customer Focus: Possesses a strong customer EQ, capable of deeply understanding and addressing the core needs and pain points of both EdTech developers and school district administrators. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: 5+ years selling highly technical products to IT/CTO/CIO stakeholders in school districts and states. Experience in district IT leadership (5+ years) with Clever products is also highly valued and may be a proxy for sales experience. Proven track record of meeting and exceeding quotas for new business revenue year over year. Demonstrated experience of engaging technical district and state personnel. Strong familiarity with a district's technology infrastructure (SIS, LMS, HRIS) and integrations needed to successfully implement IDM/IAM and MFA products. Preferred knowledge of Clever and our business model as it relates to SSO, Rostering, Clever Portal and our Application Partners. Strong track record of exceeding quota, forecasting, building and managing accurate pipeline. Ability to articulate a proven and research-based sales methodology outlining best practices with prospecting, discovery, customer best-practices, negotiating, and closing deals. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time during peak sales season and when travel dictates during peak conference season. For candidates residing in NYC and San Francisco, CA is between $142,000-$167,000. All final offers are determined using multiple factors, including experience and level of expertise.
