Agile Coach/Digital Strategy Consultant for the Banking Sector
Remote Job
* Share Facebook LinkedIn Twitter Meet NTT DATA People **Alejandro Hernandez** Agile Coach/Digital Strategy Consultant for the Banking Sector Chile Alejandro originates from Venezuela but has lived in Santiago, Chile since 2013, where he studied for an MBA. He has been working with NTT DATA since 2021, helping the banking industry to become more agile and to use adaptive competencies. He has a passion for understanding how people interact with technology and the support he can give them psychologically to use technology well. In his free time, he loves to travel and explore the world and get to know people from differing cultures and backgrounds.
Finding my passion and building a vision for the future.
** Tell us about an interesting project**
My role is to help companies understand how they can work better according to the Agile mindset and frameworks. This would include some investigation on our side followed by presenting recommendations to our clients. In some cases, we also manage the whole transformation process for the whole cycle of the project. One memorable project that I was involved with was called Revolution on Risk, where we brought agility to the non-IT section of a Chilean bank, specifically involved in the field of financial risk.
It was memorable for me because we managed to affect a really positive mindset change which led to great efficiency savings and a change in how people communicate, in a positive way, in their daily work. Overall, the change over the six months of the project was immense, and really stood out for me.
** Describe a regular working day**
I guess you could say that I have a combination of various work styles, which NTT DATA allow to fix for myself. Mostly, I work at home if I have work that I can manage best on my own. I find this to be a pretty efficient way of working when I need to get things done. I also like to visit the clients, so try to get to one of the sites about once a week. As I live close to the subway, I can just hop on a train and get about the city easily when needed. Sometimes, I also go to the office when we have meetings that are best facilitated face to face.
Coincidentally, I have been involved as project leader with the design and layout of the new workspaces. When it's completed, I think it will be pretty impressive. Designing workspaces is not my core competency, but when I was asked to contribute, I jumped at the chance because I wanted to have some input in creating a new, collaborative and innovate workplace.
I have a way to describe my experience so far at NTT DATA, which is that I get support from different latitudes of the company. By that I mean, that as an immigrant to a new country the local people in our company have given me help and support to settle in. I feel like I'm offered a safe place to work and grow, and that support and understanding comes from all levels in the company. I know that NTT DATA is a place that can help me to become the best version of myself. Whether it's through the mentoring program, leadership support or internal training I know that I can be challenged, grow, affect positive change in the community, and succeed as a person.
