I am a co-founder and CTO of Clinc, a conversational AI company. Our technology is deployed at scale and currently serves tens of millions of users. I am currently on leave from the University of Michigan, where I am an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. My research focuses on designing large-scale systems for AI applications. I have received Google research award, Facebook research award, ISCA hall of fame and MICRO hall of fame. I have graduated 10 Ph.D students and mentored 5 post doc fellows. Prior to joining UofM, I received my Ph.D in Computer Science from University of Virginia in May 2012. I spent a year in UCSD CSE Department and a couple of months as visiting scientists at Google

He studied at University of Michigan between 2013 and 2016, University of California San Diego between 2004 and 2007, and University of San Diego between 1999 and 2004.

John is an accomplished, award-winning Senior Marketing Executive with 25+ years of demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams to build brand equity and drive sustainable revenue growth.
