Maintain relationships with all existing referral sources.

Your Job as a Substance Use Counselor:
The Substance Use Counselor is instrumental in our patient's treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. Substance Use Counselors provide high quality, compassionate care through various mediums which include both individual and group counseling sessions.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in both individual and group counseling sessions.
Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient's recovery.
Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.
Prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.
Initial assessments as well as follow up assessments.
Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed.
May plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
Provide crisis intervention to patients, as needed.
Provide casemanagement duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care as needed.
Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients, as needed.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
Master's degree in social or health services field required;
Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities.
* Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
* Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery.
* Knowledge of evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and relapse prevention techniques.
* Documentation experience, including maintaining clinical notes, treatment plans, and progress updates in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
* Familiarity with state regulatory standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission standards).
* Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team with medical staff, casemanagers, and peer support specialists.
Required Licenses/Certifications:

Coordinate with federal, state, and local partners, as well as community service providers, to connect repatriates with appropriate resources (housing, food, medical care, transportation, etc.).

Position Summary:The Licensed mental health provider/Non-ClinicalCaseManager shall provide year-round dedicated mental health and wellness services to Washtenaw Community College students. Respond to daily counseling and casemanagement functions including student emergencies, student referrals, walk-in requests, and faculty/staff/administrative consults. Ability to quickly make a strong therapeutic alliance with students of any background to support their emergency or day-to-day mental health needs.
Provide specialized support and intervention for WCC students experiencing complex mental health issues and crises. This includes comprehensive suicide risk assessment, safety planning (including lethal means management), and consistent application of WCC emergency mental health protocols.

Monitor and track individual cases and student progress to ensure compliance with recommendations, including safety assessment and safety planning

Establish and maintain effective collegial partnerships with related campus departments including Campus Safety, Dean of Students, Student Activities, Success Coaching, Student Resource Center, Advising, and LSS as well as campus departments and external agencies determined relevant to the mental health success of WCC students.

The TCM works as part of a multi-disciplinary care team to ensure patients gain access to appropriate medical, behavioral health, substance use disorder (SUD), educational, and social services. The remaining .5 FTE for this position will be focused on providing therapeutic services to adult patients diagnosed with Behavioral Health Disorders and Substance Use Disorders (as well as other co-occurring disorders). Responsibilities include, but are not exclusive to: psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, individual therapy, group therapy, treatment planning, psychoeducation, referrals and consultations.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS

2. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans in collaboration with the patient, care team, and other providers.
3. Facilitate linkage to primary care, behavioral health, SUD services, and community resources.
