SPECIFIC DUTIES
Design and develop a manner in which to evaluate the outreach (i.e., psychological and spiritual) services offered to clients of the Office of Assistance Ministry.
Represent the office when an allegation is formalized at Professional Fitness Review meeting with Victim-Survivor. Explain office services.
Monitor therapeutic outreach to individual clients of the office.
Maintain professional relationship with treating therapists. Send necessary forms and documentation to therapist. Explain billing and payment procedures.
Receive therapeutic treatment reports from treating therapists on individual cases. Based on report, work with therapist on future commitments from the Archdiocese.
Attend appropriate meetings with archdiocesan leadership on individual cases.
Convene and chair Clinical Advisory Panel meetings. Maintain professional membership on panel.
Consults and collaborates with director on specific cases.
Serves as contact person for parish education in the arena of sexual abuse.
Serves as consultant to other dioceses/religious communities.
The Life of Prayer and Penance are conditions defined by the Archdiocese as fulfilling the expectations of the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People with respect to the lifestyle and behavioral expectations for priests who have at least one substantiated allegation of sexual abuse against a minor.
The primary purpose of the Prayer and Penance program is to prevent sexual abuse by the program
participants and to protect the community from harm.
Secondary purposes of the Prayer and Penance Program are as follows:
To reduce risk by promoting healthy living on the part of program participants in the program.
To prevent harm to the faith of Catholics within the Archdiocese.
To protect the reputation of the priesthood from further harm by individuals in the program.
The guidelines that have been established for the Program of Prayer and Penance reflect current (2009) standards for community supervision with adults who have sexually offended minors. Increasing positive activities and pro-social relationships within a supervised framework with consistent accountability is the best overall methodology for prevention of further incidents of sexual abuse and other forms of sexual offending and is the core of the program. As the knowledge base in this area continues to develop, modifications will be in order.
The CaseManager's function includes the following activities:
Develop systems of support for program participants,
Verify the accuracy of daily logs and travel requests,
Establish communication with therapists, sponsors, and members of the participants' community support network,
Maintain ongoing, personal communication with the program participants to continually assess risk,
Develop and oversee the maintenance of Individual Specific Protocols,
Oversee clinical services for participants,
Document the compliance and non-compliance of program participants,
Provide information regarding the program participants to leaders within the Archdiocese on both an "as needed" and consistent basis,
EDUCATION
Masters Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
Licensed through State Licensing Board of Illinois.

Summary
HHMI is seeking a Contracts Counsel for its Office of the General Counsel (OGC) to help support HHMI's programs and operations by providing informed, practical, creative, and timely legal counsel in the review and negotiation of research‑related agreements. As a member of the dynamic team in HHMI's OGC, you will be directly involved in HHMI's mission of advancing biomedical research for the benefit of humanity.
The person in this role will review and negotiate contracts relating to the conduct of research in HHMI laboratories. These contracts include agreements covering the transfer of reagents and other materials into and from HHMI laboratories (inbound and outgoing Materials Transfer Agreements or MTAs and MTOs). In addition, the Contracts Counsel ensures that inter‑institutional agreements (IIAs) and licenses entered into by third‑party research institutions that relate to technology developed in HHMI laboratories are consistent with HHMI's policies and interests. The Contracts Counsel will work closely with other OGC staff, HHMI scientific management, HHMI laboratory heads and staff, and research institution staff to efficiently resolve issues relating to MTAs, MTOs, IIAs, and licenses.
This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel and works under the general supervision of the Deputy General Counsel and one Senior Contracts Counsel. We will consider either remote or hybrid working arrangements, given the candidate's preference.

Work collaboratively in the MTLR group to resolve legal and practical issues arising in MTA negotiation and processing.
Perform MTO Review: review and edit MTOs and advise assigned institutions as needed on questions relating to MTOs, such as MTO terms acceptable to HHMI.
Perform IIA and License Review: provide timely comments to assigned research institutions on IIAs, options, and licenses, consistent with HHMI policies.
Consult and coordinate with others in OGC and at HHMI, including Senior Director‑Scientific Officers and Senior Director‑Scientific Program Officers, as appropriate, on MTA, MTO, and license issues.
Update and maintain electronic databases associated with MTAs, MTOs, and licenses in a timely manner.
Assist the MTLR group and other OGC staff in suggesting, evaluating, documenting, and implementing improvements to HHMI procedures and practices for handling MTAs, MTOs, and licenses.
Maintain a current knowledge of legal issues and current practices in the scientific community relevant to MTAs, MTOs, and licenses, including through participation in continuing legal education and membership in appropriate bar and professional associations. As opportunities arise, support efforts of HHMI laboratories and the broader scientific community to promote the availability of reagents and other research materials.
What you bring
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
Active membership in good standing with an established bar required.
A minimum of three years of experience as an attorney in private practice or in a corporate, nonprofit, or government legal department.
At least two years of experience drafting and negotiating contracts. Experience drafting and negotiating contracts relating to life sciences research and/or intellectual property is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, judgment, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with scientists, senior management, colleagues, and outside counsel.
Interest in learning new subject matter, developing proficiency with legal and information systems, and supporting the work of HHMI scientists and grantees.

In collaboration with students, staff, and families, the school counselor will provide responsive services to address students' barriers to academic achievement. Activities to support this objective may include: facilitation of small groups; structured, short-term, goal-oriented individual counseling sessions; participation in building-level student assistance teams; facilitation of conferences with students, teachers, and families; consultation with teachers, families, and external partners regarding the developmental needs of students; schoolwide support during crisis or emergency situations; participation in IEP/504 Plan teams. Please note that school counselors do NOT provide therapeutic treatment of a mental, emotional, or bodily disorder.
Provide Indirect Student Support:
Indirect services are provided on behalf of students as a result of the school counselor's interactions with others. Activities to support this objective may include: referral of students/families to district and community resources; sharing strategies that support student achievement with parents, teachers, other educators, and community organizations; serving as a student advocate to promote student development within the three domains; serving as the school's resident expert on student development; reaching out to other experts and stakeholders to obtain information on students' needs; teaming/partnering/serving on committees and advisory boards; creating formalized partnerships with community based organizations.
Provide System Support:
As professionals, leaders, and advocates in the school building, the school counselor will coordinate, conduct and participate in activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school consistent with the approved school counseling program. Activities to support this objective may include: creation of an annual school counseling Evidence-Based Implementation Plan and Annual Agreement to support overall school goals and objectives; creation and delivery of needs assessments to determine the primary needs of students according to a variety of audiences; collection and aggregation of multiple data sources in order to determine need, as well as to progress monitor counseling interventions; protection of planning time for the creation and modification of counseling interventions; coordination of professional development/inservice programs for faculty and staff.
Participate in Regular Professional Development:
So as to stay current with evidenced-based practices in the field, the school counselor will actively participate in district, state, and national professional development; participate in professional associations; read professional journals; attend workshops and conferences; engage in continuing education coursework.
