**Primary Responsibilities**

The Data Coordinator I is responsible for the correlation and/or entry of clinical trial data into electronic data capture (EDC) software. The Data Coordinator I will conduct tasks performed within compliance of study protocol, Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

**Tasks Performed**

+ Ensure the confidentiality of clinical trial participants and sponsors is respected.

+ Maintain and advocate a high level of quality and customer service within the department.

+ Update and/or maintain tracking tools to ensure clinical trial data milestones are met.

+ Review exported and/or manually entered data entries for completeness.

+ Record, track and ensure the resolution of data queries.

+ Review data entry guidelines for potential errors and/or logic discrepancies and escalate findings.

+ Complete clinical trial specific database trainings when required.

+ May assist in sponsor/regulatory audits.

+ Proactively communicate issues and/or problem resolutions to departmental supervisors and managers.

+ Complete and/or maintain training as required per jobs needs.

+ Perform general administrative tasks when required.

+ Other tasks as assigned by management

**Qualifications**

+ Educational: High School Diploma or GED required; college degree and related work experience preferred.

+ Skills: Good Communication, customer service focused, able to work in fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Reviews, organizes, and synthesizes clinical data collected for Improve Care Now. Ensures that data produce valid, meaningful, and reliable results. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience

* 5 years of experience in clinical or a related field
* 3 years of experience in data management and coordination with knowledge about database development, data quality principles, and statistical methodologies
* Experience in research with knowledge of research principles, methodologies, and study design

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in the subspecialty of involvement
* Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certification

Education

* Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, or related field

2.Makes data available to physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and other team members.

3.Provides reports on a regular basis and conducts team meetings to share data.

4.Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements regarding strict confidentiality of patient data, quality assurance indicators, and results of information collected.

5.Maintains extensive records, including diseases and outcomes.

6.May interact with other hospital staff and/or departments to request and collect data.

7.Retrieves and tabulates necessary data regarding monthly patient activity, e.g., newly diagnosed, relapsed, progressions, and death.

8.Supports and participates in the continuous assessment and improvement of quality data entry and analysis in collaboration with providers and members of the ImproveCareNow team.

9.Works with team to identify quality improvement initiatives, implements improvement plans, monitors outcomes, and identifies opportunities for improvement.
