A Laboratory Manager is responsible for the technical and scientific oversight of the laboratory, including day-to-day operations, supervision of personnel performing testing, and the accuracy and timeliness of test result reporting.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM - 4:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
* Participate in verifying test procedures performed and establishing laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system
* Ensure enrollment and participation in an HHS approved proficiency testing program commensurate with the services offered.
* Establish a quality control program appropriate for the testing performed, establish the parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensure that these levels are maintained throughout the entire testing process from the initial receipt of the specimen, through sample analysis and reporting of test results.
* Resolve technical and operational problems and ensure that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
* Ensure that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properly.
* Identify training needs and ensure that every performing tests receives regular in-service training and education appropriate for the type and complexity of the laboratory services performed.
* Evaluate the competency of all testing personnel and assure that the staff maintain their competency to perform test procedures and report test results promptly, accurately and proficiently.
* Ensure the competency of testing personnel in areas of responsibility i.e. moderately complexity and/or high complexity testing.
* Ensure that the staff maintain their competency to perform test procedures and report test results promptly, accurately and proficiently.
* Evaluate and document competency assessment of testing personnel in laboratory area of responsibility at least semiannually during the first year the testing personnel tests patient specimens and annually thereafter.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
* Pattern I: In areas that support Clinical Pathology:
* Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
* 5 years of clinical laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing
* 3 years of clinical laboratory management or supervisory experience
* Laboratory training or experience and can be met by any combination of years of clinical laboratory training or experience.
* Clinical laboratory training or experience can be met by:
* Medical technology internship
* Full time experience performing non-waived testing for the required number of years
* Part-time experience performing non-waived testing, with 2080 hours equivalent to one year.
In areas that support Anatomic Pathology (depending on department):
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
* Education and training equivalent to meet ASCP Board of certification qualifications for Histotechnologist (HTL).
* OR
* Education and training equivalent to meet ASCP Board of Certification qualifications for Cytotechnologist (CT)
* AND
* Meets the requirements and training of a Cytotechnologist (CT) as dictated by most current CLIA regulations.
* Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided.
* Education will be verified.
* Education outside of the United States requires diploma/transcripts translated into English and proof of foreign equivalency from a NACES (National Association Credential Evaluation Services, Inc) member.
Physical Requirements:
* Visual acuity to study specimens under a microscope.
* The ability to distinguish colors.
* Fine motor skills and manual dexterity to handle specimens and lab equipment required to process specimens and repair equipment.
* May be required to stand for long periods of time.
* Light lifting may be required.
* May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, biohazards, radioactive materials, etc.
Personal Protective Equipment:
* Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $84,200.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $128,412.50

Differential experience is required
ASCP or AMT certification is preferred

Summary
The Director of Clinic Operations is a senior administrative staff member responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic management of all clinical activities within the dental college. Working in close collaboration with faculty, staff and students, the Director ensures regulatory compliance, optimal patient care, and support for student clinical education.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Staff Supervision and Training: Oversee day-to-day operations of predoctoral and postgraduate dental clinics. Ensure timely and efficient patient flow, clinic scheduling, and clinical resource allocation. Manage patient intake systems, electronic health records (EHR), and case assignment processes. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for clinic operations. Supervise clinical support staff (e.g., dental assistants, front desk personnel, sterilization technicians). Participate in hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development of clinic staff. Foster a positive, patient-centered, and student-supportive work environment.
Administrative and Financial Oversight: Assist in the development and management of clinic budgets, including revenues, expenditures, and capital improvements. Oversee inventory, ordering, and maintenance of clinical supplies and equipment. Monitor billing practices and coordinate with the finance department to ensure accurate reimbursement and patient billing.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with faculty, department chairs, and course directors to support clinical education. Liaise with IT, facilities, and external vendors as needed to maintain clinic infrastructure. Serve as a key member of the Clinical Affairs Committee and other relevant college committees.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control protocols. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to conduct audits, incident reviews, and implement continuous improvement measures. Maintain documentation and records in accordance with accreditation requirements (e.g., CODA).

Qualifications

Our starting wage for Wellness Nurse Managers is: $30-$34 per hour!

We are looking for someone (like you):
To be a Superior Supervisor: In the absence of department heads, this position is in charge of the building. Be active in the department, assisting and leading the Wellness team and other departments in ensuring quick, reliable, and person-centered care is provided.
To be a Force on the Floor: A good leader sets a good example: Be available to help with call lights, requests for assistance from the team, and demonstrate a sense of urgency that puts the needs, great or small, of a resident first.
To be a Diligent Documenter: Resident assessments, medical records, and internal documents should be completed accurately and efficiently, and filed correctly.
To be a Compassionate Caregiver: Exemplify the core values at the heart of Arrow, ensuring each interaction with a resident is professional, caring, and ends with the resident feeling safe and cared for.
What are we looking for?
You must have current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing within state of employment.
You will have thorough working knowledge of current care standards and regulations.
You will have comprehensive working knowledge of current medication regulation and law
You will have knowledge of the requirements for providing care and supervision appropriate to the residents.
You may have experience in hands-on care of memory impaired residents is preferred, but not required.
You may have experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) as it is preferred, but not required.
You can read, write, understand, and communicate in English with our Residents!
You will have a positive and energetic attitude who will LOVE our Residents!
You must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
You must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds and perform two-person transfers.
You must be able to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, as well as assisting persons after a fall.
You must be criminally cleared.
