Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret microbiology plates and Gram stains
Perform specimen set-ups and routine laboratory testing
Accurately document results in the Laboratory Information System (Cerner; Epic transition planned)
Follow CLIA, CAP, and LabCorp quality and safety standards
Work collaboratively with laboratory staff and leadership
Complete required training and competency assessments

Provides quality laboratory results for inpatient and outpatient customers according to established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Performs both basic and advanced emergency, therapeutic, and diagnostic laboratory procedures with knowledge regarding age specific laboratory needs of the neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient. May perform waived, moderate and high complexity testing.
Calibrates, standardizes, operates, maintains, and troubleshoots various instruments following established procedures. Performs quality control to ensure proper functioning of instruments, reagents, and procedures. Recognizes instrument malfunctions or out-of-control test results and takes appropriate corrective action.
Responsible for all documentation required for the tasks performed.
Adheres to infection control and safety practices according to policies and procedures.

Must possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of
time, reach and bend. Is able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing
up to 20 pounds. Vision and hearing must be normal or corrected to within normal. Normal color vision for those tasks requiring color differentiation.
Includes exposure to human body fluids, disease, infection, laboratory chemicals and hazardous material. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Physical presence on site is essential. Able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities:
Performing laboratory tests and procedures, including but not limited to hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology
Analyzing and interpreting test results, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals
Maintaining accurate records of all tests performed and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments
Participating in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
Skills:
As a Medical Lab Technician, you will use your knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques to perform a variety of tests and procedures, analyze and interpret results, and maintain accurate records. You will also use your attention to detail and precision to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, and your ability to work independently and as part of a team to collaborate with other healthcare professionals. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will be essential in this role.

Days: Wed-Tues, 8 on 6 off rotating weekends and holidays
Hours: 4 PM - 2 AM

In this role, you will:

Perform a vital part of the patient care process through moderate and high complexity testing
Analyze, review, and report testing results
Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
Champion safety, compliance, and quality control
All you need is:
Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology; or Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science with 1 year of Medical Technology training
1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing
Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
