This Lab Technician will be responsible for performing solid phase and liquid phase extractions/digestions in accordance with EPA drinking water test methods and standard operating procedures. The role involves running multiple tests of varying lengths, working closely with other Lab Technicians, and reporting to an Analyst who plans the daily sample schedule. Responsibilities + Perform required extractions/digestions within holding times according to specified test methods. + Calibrate equipment before beginning tests and document all calibration work. + Accurately transcribe identifying information, including sample ID numbers, into records or computer databases. + Ensure all calculations are correct and properly documented as per company SOPs and regulatory agencies. + Complete confirmatory tests or procedures within their holding time and document the work. + Identify, document, and initiate corrective actions for any quality control issues. + Report any sample that may produce suspect results to the Quality System Manager. + Maintain equipment in working condition, documenting all maintenance and repairs. + Order or initiate the ordering of reagents and supplies needed for procedures. + Notify the Laboratory Director or Project Manager of any conditions affecting productivity schedules. Schedule The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:30 AM to 5 PM, with one variable weekday off per week. On-call is required for one weekend per month and four weeknights per month. Job Description The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology. The role involves assisting with the orientation and training of Cath Lab staff, taking responsibility for special projects, and participating in relevant committees. The technician adheres to the principles of medical ethics, has a thorough understanding of ECG and its significance in clinical settings, and can identify and interpret critical ECG changes. Responsibilities Monitors diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures and intervenes during lethal arrhythmias. Identifies coronary anatomy and cardiac pressure waveforms, providing necessary information to the Interventional Cardiologist. Calculates basic hemodynamic parameters and documents catheterization events accurately. Understands the necessary supplies for the procedures and prepares the table for diagnostic cardiac catheterization. Performs cardiac outputs, O2 saturations, and ACT measurements during procedures. Competent in various catheterization procedures including PTCA and different atherectomy techniques. Explains indications and potential complications for thrombolytic therapy during an Acute MI. Utilizes advanced imaging technologies such as intravascular ultrasound and Doppler velocimetry. Possesses knowledge on electrophysiologic testing and related interventions. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Cath/EP Lab is required. Must be capable of scrubbing for all types of heart catheterizations and EP procedures. Prefer certification as RCIS or RCES; ARRT licensure acceptable with relevant scrub experience.
