Description:
Primary function is to administer skilled nursing care to patients in their place of residence, as prescribed by the physician and in accordance with the established plan of care. The LPN/LVN works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team as well as the patient/family. The LPN/LVN will deliver care in compliance with State, Federal and Medicare standards.

Under direct supervision by laboratory technologist, leader and/or supervisor, and according to defined protocols, performs select procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems.

-Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.
Experience with Beckman Coulter equipment (with AU system experience preferred). Candidates with Sunquest LIS experience and automation experience are preferred.

-Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.
Required Certification & Licensure:
-Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA).

Job Description
The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology. The role involves assisting with the orientation and training of Cath Lab staff, taking responsibility for special projects, and participating in relevant committees. The technician adheres to the principles of medical ethics, has a thorough understanding of ECG and its significance in clinical settings, and can identify and interpret critical ECG changes.
Responsibilities
Monitors diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures and intervenes during lethal arrhythmias.
Identifies coronary anatomy and cardiac pressure waveforms, providing necessary information to the Interventional Cardiologist.
Calculates basic hemodynamic parameters and documents catheterization events accurately.
Understands the necessary supplies for the procedures and prepares the table for diagnostic cardiac catheterization.
Performs cardiac outputs, O2 saturations, and ACT measurements during procedures.
Competent in various catheterization procedures including PTCA and different atherectomy techniques.
Explains indications and potential complications for thrombolytic therapy during an Acute MI.
Utilizes advanced imaging technologies such as intravascular ultrasound and Doppler velocimetry.
Possesses knowledge on electrophysiologic testing and related interventions.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Cath/EP Lab is required.
Must be capable of scrubbing for all types of heart catheterizations and EP procedures.
Prefer certification as RCIS or RCES; ARRT licensure acceptable with relevant scrub experience.
ACLS and BLS certification required.
