Responsibilities: Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, or spinal fluid, to determine presence of normal or abnormal components. Analyze laboratory findings to check the accuracy of the results. Operate, calibrate, or maintain equipment used in quantitative or qualitative analysis, such as spectrophotometers, calorimeters, flame photometers, or computer-controlled analyzers. Collect and study blood samples to determine the number of cells, their morphology, or their blood group, blood type, or compatibility for transfusion purposes, using microscopic techniques. Enter data from analysis of medical tests or clinical results into computer for storage. Establish or monitor quality assurance programs or activities to ensure the accuracy of laboratory results. Analyze samples of biological material for chemical content or reaction. Set up, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment. Provide technical information about test results to physicians, family members, or researchers. Supervise, train, or direct lab assistants, medical and clinical laboratory technicians or technologists, or other medical laboratory workers engaged in laboratory testing, as determined necessary and directed. Obtain, cut, stain, and mount biological material on slides for microscopic study and diagnosis, following standard laboratory procedures. COMPENSATION: Compensation: HH&WC works diligently to provide exceptional market-value compensation for all positions. The current compensation range for this position is $70,000.00 - $75,000.00, depending on level of experience, paid bi-weekly as a salaried rate. The technologist operates specialized imaging equipment, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. This position requires technical expertise in cardiovascular procedures, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations. Essential Work Functions: * Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures * Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment * Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality * Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control and procedural protocols * Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed * Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs * Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications * Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use of lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters * Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements * Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards * Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice Required Essential Skills: * Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills * The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language * Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills * Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend * Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism * Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment * Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
