Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
Assist with processing of specimens when needed
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Requirements:
Associate's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or non-traditional Associate's degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
Previous clinical laboratory testing experience is highly preferred
ASCP or AMT certification is preferred
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is a qualified professional with in-depth knowledge of biology, chemistry and various medical equipment. S/he collects and organizes samples for examination and works with medical professionals to assure results are correct.
JOB DUTIES:
Collect and prepare blood, urine and tissue samples for analysis
Examine collected samples and identify any cell abnormalities
Perform clinical lab tests and report results
Maintain laboratory inventory levels and if necessary, place orders for new supplies
Prepare detailed reports about test results and findings
Document and review tested data
Ensure all tissue samples are prepped for examination
Collaborate with pathologist(s) and other medical specialist to determine correct diagnosis if cell abnormalities are discovered
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree of Medical Laboratory Technician or Bachelor degree of Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry, required
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certification through ASCP or equivalent, required
2 years' experience as a Medical Technician, preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask
