Department Profile: The Pontotoc Ridge-Flatwoods Branch Experiment Station is located in Pontotoc, MS. The Pontotoc Branch is 1 of 6 Clean Plant Centers in the United States as part of the National Clean Plant Network (nationalcleanplantnetwork.org). This 640-acre research facility is a premier information source for the Mississippi sweetpotato industry and contributes research results throughout the world. The MLT will be responsible for performing routine laboratory tests and procedures that assist physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating diseases. Key Responsibilities: Collect, prepare, and test specimens such as blood, urine, tissue, and other body fluids. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., microscopes, cell counters, analyzers). Record and analyze test results, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss test results. Maintain lab inventory and order supplies as needed. Participate in quality control and assurance processes. Adhere to confidentiality regulations and medical ethics. Work Environment: Lifting up to 25 pounds May involve exposure to biological hazards and infectious materials. Requires standing for long periods and working with specialized equipment.
