About this Position
Provides technical support for the delivery and maintenance of cadaver anatomy labs for the science department under the direction of the Anatomy Lab Technician, Department Head, and Lead Instructor of Anatomy. Additional duties may include support of science activities and day-to-day functions.
Required Qualifications
No Degree (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Received a grade of “A” or “B” for Human Anatomy at OSU-OKC or similar course.
Current student enrolled in at least one course at OSU-OKC.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Attaining a grade of “B” or better from either the OSU-OKC Human Anatomy course (BIOL2214) or BIOL1515 and BIOL1212.
Recommendation from an OSU-OKC anatomy lab instructor.
Must be currently enrolled in at least one class at OSU-OKC.

Preferred Qualifications

Essential Job Functions:
Dissection and maintenance of human cadavers and the lab environment.
Record work performed in anatomy labs including, but not limited to, activities performed on cadavers.
Maintain a safe working environment in cadaver labs with appropriate collection and disposal of biological specimens. Any hazards are to be reported to the anatomy lab technician.
Monitor anatomy students in open lab sessions.
Maintain lab coats and other lab supplies for anatomy labs.
Completes all mandatory training.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
Laboratory environment. Exposure to chemicals and repetitive activities common to science labs, such as cutting and pipetting.
Position may require up to 30% of the work week be performed outside of regular hours.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends in an often times busy and noisy environment. Shifts are 3-4 hours per day and a maximum of 20 hours per week.
Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift) unassisted, bending, standing, repetitive motions, climbing ,walking and computer usage.
Duties require extensive use of computers, telephone and other office equipment.
Must be able to handle and safely dispose of chemicals, solutions, biohazardous material, and any other hazardous materials common to the science lab.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Clinical Laboratory Scientist:
A. A Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree from a regionally accredited college/university including courses in biological science, chemistry and mathematics, AND successful completion of a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
OR
B. At least a full 4-year course of study that included 12 months in a college or hospital-based medical technology program or medical technology school approved by a recognized accrediting organization. The professional medical technology curriculum may have consisted of a 1-year post- bachelor's certificate program or the last 1 or 2 years of a 4-year program of study culminating in a bachelor's in medical technology.
OR
C. A bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree from an accredited college/university that included 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of biological science (with one semester in microbiology), 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of chemistry (with one semester in organic or biochemistry), one semester (one quarter) of mathematics, AND five years of full time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, microbiology, Immunology and Urinalysis/Body Fluids. This combination of education and experience must have provided knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of medical technology equivalent to that provided by the full 4-year course of study described in A or B above. All science and mathematics courses must have been acceptable for credit toward meeting the requirements for a science major at an accredited college or university. Acceptable experience is responsible professional or technician experience in a hospital laboratory, health agency, industrial medical laboratory, or pharmaceutical house; or teaching, test development, or medical research program experience that provided an understanding of the methods and techniques applied in performing professional clinical laboratory work. Certification/licensure as a medical technologist (generalist) obtained through written examination by a nationally recognized credentialing agency or State licensing body is a good indication that the quality of experience is acceptable.
Evaluation of Education and Experience: The four major areas of clinical laboratory science are microbiology, clinical chemistry, hematology, and immunohematology (blood banking). Qualifying course work in these areas includes bacteriology, mycology, mycobacteriology, tissue culture, virology, parasitology, endocrinology, enzymology, toxicology, urinalysis, coagulation, hemostasis, cell morphology, immunology, serology, immunoserology, immuno-deficiency, hemolysis, histocompatibility, cyto-genetics, and similar disciplines or areas of laboratory practice.
Related fields include physiology, anatomy, molecular biology, cell biology, embryology, pathology, genetics, pharmacology, histology, cytology, nuclear medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, infection control, physics, statistics, and similar areas of science where the work is directly related to the position to be filled.
Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0644 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring quality control in a clinical laboratory, providing guidance to medical laboratory personnel, AND assisting with monitoring the work performance of medical technologist. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Tribal Diagnostics is searching for a full-time Lab Tech with Molecular experience. The hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 8am - 5pm.
The Molecular Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures related to molecular biology and genetics. This role is crucial in supporting scientific research, clinical diagnostics, and other applications that involve nucleic acid analysis. The Molecular Laboratory Technician will work under the supervision of a laboratory manager and ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform DNA and RNA extraction from various sample types using established protocols and techniques.
Set up and conduct PCR assays for amplification of DNA sequences. This includes preparing reaction mixtures, thermal cycling, and analyzing results.
Properly handle and store biological samples to maintain their integrity and minimize contamination.
Ensure the accuracy and precision of test results by following quality control procedures and maintaining laboratory standards.
Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
Assist in data analysis and interpretation, including the use of relevant software and reporting results.
Maintain detailed records of experiments, procedures, and results, following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain compliance with laboratory regulations and accreditation standards
Successfully participates in and supports Tribal Diagnostics' compliance program and initiatives.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and software used in molecular biology.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to accurately pipet small volumes.

The Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist, is under indirect supervision and in a timely manner, accurately and precisely performs and report laboratory tests. Assists with patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance. Qualifications
Education: Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent degree with credit hours meeting ASCP registry eligibility standards OR Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent degree with credit hours meeting ASCP registry eligibility standards.
Licensure/Certification: MLT (ASCP) registry or MT (ASCP) registry.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of generalist experience in an acute care facility preferred. Blood Banking competency a plus.
