Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description
As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for developing operating procedures and performing tests for various water and wastewater treatment operations. Your role will involve conducting jar tests to determine and optimize chemical dosing, evaluating bench and pilot scale systems, and performing column and batch testing for ion exchange resins, carbon adsorption, and other filtration systems.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct jar tests to determine and optimize chemical dosing for various treatment approaches.
+ Perform bench and pilot scale evaluations.
+ Conduct columns and batch testing for ion exchange resins, carbon adsorption, activated alumina, and filtration systems.
+ Collect data by measuring and recording operating conditions such as pumping rates, pH, ORP, temperature, and pressure.
+ Operate and conduct light maintenance on small-scale equipment including pumps, heaters, and mixers.
+ Prepare samples and reagents for testing and in-house lab analyses.
+ Perform various laboratory analyses including DO, color, temperature, ORP, alkalinity, hardness, TSS, TDS, COD, TOC, turbidity, and phosphorus/phosphate.
+ Pull samples for third-party laboratory analysis.
+ Maintain reagents, lab inventory, calibration records, and SDS documentation for lab chemicals and reagents.
+ Manage and communicate data effectively.
+ Maintain the cleanliness of lab equipment and operating areas.
Essential Skills
+ Strong background in laboratory techniques, chemistry, and wet chemistry.
+ Proficiency with standard laboratory instruments such as pH meters, TSS probes, HACH spectrophotometers, analytical balances, and volumetric glassware.
+ Experience with instrumentation such as ICP, GC, and HPLC is preferred.
+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or a related field.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
+ Detail-oriented with the ability to work precisely in solution making, data handling, and instrument operation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with titration, reverse osmosis, quality control, and quality assurance.
+ Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn and grow in responsibility.

Work Environment

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Laboratory, Molecular Technologist
A typical day for the Molecular Technologist includes sample multiplexed immunofluorescent labeling/staining, digital imaging, quality control review of digital imaging, and test analysis output reviews. The technologist would be working with equipment setups for staining and imaging, as well as reagent preparations, specimen management, and assisting with inventory and quality management tasks as needed. This role will spend the most time on three main activities: histological staining and imaging, specimen management and preparation, and quality control review checks and documentation associated with high complexity clinical laboratory testing.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited institution, plus 1-2 years of experience in a molecular biology testing environment, clinical, or equivalent laboratory environment. And/or have completion of military training for laboratory technicians as high complexity testing personnel. Completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training program
Minimum coursework and training requirements:
24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses, including 6 semester hours of both Chemistry & Biology & an additional 12 semester hours in any combination of Chemistry, Biology, or Medical Laboratory Science.
AND Completion of a clinical laboratory training program, OR at least 3 months of documented laboratory training in each specialty area where the individual will perform high-complexity testing.
The Molecular Technologists in the clinical laboratory are placed on a track towards obtaining American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Technologist in Molecular Biology (MB) board certification if not already credentialed upon hire and expected to obtain such a certification within 2 years of employment. Responsibilities:

Summary of Duties of the Medication Technician
The primary responsibilities of the Medication Technician are as follows: 1) Administer or assist with the administration and/or supervision of medications to the residents in a safe, accurate, and timely manner (dependent on State regulations); 2) Provide physical and psychosocial care to all residents in a manner that promotes dignity, choice, and individuality; and 3) Responsible for overseeing the wellness staffing schedule. Documents medications administered on the MAR in accordance with company policy; Checks MARs immediately after administration and prior to end of shift to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
Conducts change of shift report with oncoming/outgoing shift personnel.
Maintains security of medication cart and narcotic keys during entire shift; Conducts narcotic count at the beginning and end of every shift in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Provides assistance with activities of daily living such as with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene (includes shaving, oral care, nail care, hair care, foot care), toileting, eating, and ambulation/mobility.
Works collaboratively with peers and other team members.
Maintains professional demeanor at all times when interacting with residents and families.
Reports any suspected or witnessed instances of verbal, mental, or physical abuse to licensed staff immediately.

Position Overview
