They are responsible for ensuring ingredients and product meets all Quality Specifications while complying with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and Hygiene requirements. This role Is responsible for overseeing on-site collection, labeling, analyzing, and recording of results related to raw materials, Intermediate products, finished product, packaging materials, and other samples. In addition, they will act as the site functional expert for all laboratory testing performed on-site as well as ensuring compliance to the Mars Laboratory Standard and Mars Quality Management Program Standard. This role is responsible for overseeing laboratory analysis of ingredients and recording results. Assure laboratory functions are followed including but not limited to methods performed correctly, records are complete and accurate, Good Laboratory Practices are followed, and associates are following proper quality & safety procedures. What are we looking for? Minimum Qualifications: Have a 2-year degree or equivalent laboratory experience (3-5 years) in a Science Field. Knowledge and understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Quality Management Systems. 1-3 years of experience in a quality laboratory function. Possess experience and knowledge of basic laboratory operations such as weighing, titrating, and preparing volumetric solutions. Attention to detail and good organization skills. Have effective verbal and written communication skills. Able to follow instructions and strictly follow procedures. What will your key responsibilities be? · Lead site lab technicians conducting physical and chemical tests including but not limited to pipettes, pH meter, water activity meter, NIR, Lateral Flow Device, and ELISA methods. · Interpret analytical method procedures and safety instructions using standard chemistry terms and measures. · Maintain all records of analytical testing and quality control lab documentation. Responsible for tracking, trend analysis, and other Quality Control related responsibilities. · Inform Q&FS Manager and Line Manager of quality deviations for controls and product. · Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including calibration of equipment. Ability to conduct limited Instrument troubleshooting and problem diagnosis. · Ensure sampling raw materials from bulk trucks, big bags, and totes is completed according to Mars standards. · Assist in the preparation RM samples and documentation for external laboratories. · Interpret data from routine analysis for RM in order to validate that materials meet specifications. · Work to ensure lab compliance to quality management system through training, documentations, quality records, and audits. · Train and instruct lab technicians. · Ensure Lab participation in proficiency testing programs. · Able to perform and train on routine calculations pertaining to analytical chemistry (e.g., dilution, concentration, test results).     About the Job The Molecular Technologist I performs procedures in a complex patient sample testing process with limited supervision. Most prominently, the position is responsible for solution and reagent preparation, equipment maintenance, and the handling and testing of patient specimens. The incumbent works one of three established shifts and may be assigned to work any day that the lab is operational. This is a regulated position and additional information may be available from QA on the qualifications for this role pertaining to regulatory guidelines. Regular onsite work at a designated Foundation Medicine location is an essential function of this role. Key Responsibilities Prepare the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) library. Under limited supervision of senior lab personnel and in adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Extract and isolate nucleic acids. Complete hybridization capture, and genetic sequencing methods. Operate automated 8-span and 96-head liquid handling platforms. Operate quantification, sizing, and NGS instruments. Perform any other patient and client sample testing and processing steps needed. Perform workflow that maintains quality, thoroughness, and optimum efficiency for Turn Around Time (TAT). Utilize the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to track and execute sample processing. Document executed process steps per Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
