The Hematopathology Morphology group is responsible for performing complete blood counts (CBC) and analyzing cellular morphology in peripheral blood and some body fluids. The Hematopathology Morphology group is responsible for performing complete blood counts (CBC) and analyzing cellular morphology in peripheral blood and some body fluids. The laboratory also performs a wide range of cytochemical stains. Responsibilities + Accession pathology cases by reviewing and documenting materials. + Correlate paperwork and assess the appropriateness of ordering. + Communicate with clients when discrepancies are encountered or additional information is needed. + Collaborate with departments such as Cell Kinetics, Molecular, and Cytogenetics. + Work closely with pathologists to ensure accurate and efficient processes. + Handle computer work including intake of materials like slides and bone marrow, logging into the computer, ensuring identifiers are correct, and checking paperwork.
