Job Summary and Qualifications
Assists with diagnostic and interventional radiological procedures, ensuring minimal risk to the patient and team members according to the departmental protocols for a Level 1 Trauma Center and DNV Designate Comprehensive Stroke facility.

Job Summary:
Performs select diagnostic testing and basic activities necessary to provide laboratory testing services. Testing scope may cross several laboratory disciplines such as hematology, urinalysis, and/or chemistry. Minimal interpretation and judgement are required to perform analytical processes.

Have full knowledge of laboratory procedures and processes per protocol, laboratory manual, shipping manual, etc.
Assist the laboratory manager in site preparation for study conduct.

Assist in the preparation of collection tubes, vials, study supplies for visits.
Monitor temperature of laboratory sample storage and address any excursions.
Maintain harvest logs, chain of custody, laboratory sample manifest/inventory logs and/or memos.
Pack and properly label all study materials for storage or return to sponsor upon study close out.
Obtains samples per protocol, performs select diagnostic tests or limited high complexity testing and documents process in source documents.
Assists in gathering data for validations on select instrumentation.
Assists with monitoring supply inventory.
Stores samples in an upright position in appropriate shipping boxes in the freezer.⯠Stores primary and secondary samples in separate shipping boxes.
Ensures freezer/refrigerator temperature is within range for protocol and ensures appropriate logs are kept.
Supports and ensures strictest adherence to best practices, FDA Code of Federal Regulations, ICH (International Conference on Harmonization), GCP (Good Clinical Practices), CenExel standard operating procedures, site working Practices, protocol, and company guidelines and policies.

SUMMARY
Perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid or liquid materials for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform physical and chemical testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products.
Verify test results conform to product specifications.
Timely delivery of test results, issuing certificates of analysis, filing testing information and maintaining analysis databases.
Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
Follow lab safety regulations at all times, including but not limited to eye protection, hand protection and proper use of fume hoods or other breathing protection.
Setup, adjust and operate lab equipment; including gas & liquid chromatographs; balances; colorimeters; refractometers; spectrophotometers and other equipment.
Calibrate regularly all instruments used in the Quality Control lab stations in the plant and in the QA lab.
General lab maintenance including preventive maintenance and cleaning of lab instruments, cleaning of glass bottles, vials and tubes; as well as cleaning of lab floors, counters, cabinets and fixtures.
Maintain inventory of lab chemicals to ensure safe storage, sufficient supply and safe and correct disposal of waste chemicals and to prevent storage of expired stock.
Maintain logs and generate graphs, charts and tables.
Maintain and audit records of products and procedures essential for quality assurance, traceability, product recall, sanitation, HACCP and hazardous waste management.
Analyze industrial wastewater samples to ensure conformity to regulatory requirements.
Problem solving as required for lab instrument maintenance and product quality problems.
Follow all policies and procedures to ensure that all lab work done exceeds the requirements of “Good Laboratory Practice” and to maintain a positive image of a reliable and efficient analytical lab.

Under the general direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Medical Technologist will perform testing on medical specimens, may collect other bodily fluid specimens, label and transport specimens to the lab, input data into the computer and report results of laboratory tests
in accordance with TJC, federal, state, and local guidelines, organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Communicates with medical staff, other departments, and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality.
Position requires self-motivation, creativity, and capabilities to function in a semi-autonomous role within a fast pace and dynamic environment.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
1. Ensures adherence to proper infection control, OSHA and safety standards.
2. Assist with, plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the programs and activities of the Laboratory department.
3. Oversees the work of technicians, phlebotomists or lab assistants as directed by laboratory leadership.
4. Maintain an excellent working relationship with the medical profession and other related facilities and organizations.
5. Assure that all chemicals and biologicals are labeled in accordance and in compliance with facility policies and procedures, and with regulations issued by governmental agencies, or by TJC.
6. Assist in the proper disposal of chemicals and/or biologicals in accordance with current regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures.
7. Ensure an adequate stock of reagents and other lab supplies is on hand to meet facility needs.
8. Assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
9. Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned or that may become necessary.
10. Participates in continuing education.
11. Make recommendations to the Lab Manager regarding supplies and equipment, makes recommendations and evaluations of new equipment and clinical procedures as requested.
12. Report hazardous conditions/equipment problems immediately to the Lab Manager, and to maintenance, and record in the maintenance log.
13. Maintains appropriate scheduled maintenance and insures complete equipment maintenance records.
14. Responsible for performance and evaluation of quality control and proficiency testing programs.
15. Responsible for accurately completing a myriad of medical/laboratory tests on a variety of specimen types.
16. Maintains work area in an organized and neat manner, maintaining workflow, and proper use of equipment and reagents.
17. Will require direct contact with patients, collection and transport of specimens.
18. Accurately reports test results in a timely manner.
19. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Level of Education: Completion of an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's Degree preferred) in Medical Technology or closely related sciences with credit hours meeting AMT or ASCP registry and meets the Georgia requirement of a technologist as defined in DCH law Code of Georgia of a technologist Chapter 111-8-10-.06(4)(b)1-8
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent), or Recent graduate from an approved accredited program within the last 6 months of hire date and must be certified within 18 months of degree conferred date.\
Work Experience: Two years of pertinent laboratory experience required and one year of hospital-based laboratory experience preferred.
Tools and Equipment Used: Calculator, personal computer, telephone, facsimile machine, paper shredder, copier, printer, standard phlebotomy equipment and collection devices, syringes, needles, measuring devices, a full range of laboratory testing equipment and recalibration equipment.

SUMMARY
Perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid or liquid materials for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform physical and chemical testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products.
Verify test results conform to product specifications.
Timely delivery of test results, issuing certificates of analysis, filing testing information and maintaining analysis databases.
Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
Follow lab safety regulations at all times, including but not limited to eye protection, hand protection and proper use of fume hoods or other breathing protection.
Setup, adjust and operate lab equipment; including gas & liquid chromatographs; balances; colorimeters; refractometers; spectrophotometers and other equipment.
Calibrate regularly all instruments used in the Quality Control lab stations in the plant and in the QA lab.
General lab maintenance including preventive maintenance and cleaning of lab instruments, cleaning of glass bottles, vials and tubes; as well as cleaning of lab floors, counters, cabinets and fixtures.
Maintain inventory of lab chemicals to ensure safe storage, sufficient supply and safe and correct disposal of waste chemicals and to prevent storage of expired stock.
Maintain logs and generate graphs, charts and tables.
Maintain and audit records of products and procedures essential for quality assurance, traceability, product recall, sanitation, HACCP and hazardous waste management.
Analyze industrial wastewater samples to ensure conformity to regulatory requirements.
Problem solving as required for lab instrument maintenance and product quality problems.
Follow all policies and procedures to ensure that all lab work done exceeds the requirements of “Good Laboratory Practice” and to maintain a positive image of a reliable and efficient analytical lab.

Pay
Take advantage of our COMPETITIVE pay scale. We offer $20.00-$23.00/hourly, depending on experience.
Duties
Clinic opening and closing
Performing allergy shots, and taking vitals
Allergy treatments & vial mixing
Calling in prescriptions
Triaging patients and assisting physicians with patients and procedures
Administering tympanometry exams for ear pressure
Managing hospital consultation requests for physicians
Floating between front and back office responsibilities as needed
Scanning patient records and other information as necessary
Contacting insurance companies to pre-certify tests and procedures for Physicians
Providing excellent customer service to patients
Other duties as assigned

Medical Lab Scientist I
Clinical laboratory scientist job in Hardeeville, SC
What We Offer Sign-on bonus available up to $10,000 and Relocation up to $7,500! Schedule: Full-Time, Monday- Friday 7A-3:30P Department: Laboratory Location: Coastal Carolina Medical Center Team member is responsible for analytical evaluation of blood and body fluids, performing all laboratory procedures to include quality control, specimen collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of laboratory results.
The team member must be able to make decisions and solve problems.
The team member will assist in the evaluation of new/modified techniques when required.
They will advise and assist in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software, as necessary.
What We're Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required.
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science or equivalent.
Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Technology or MT program Preferred.
If graduated before 1987, two-year certification is recognized as MT Experience: One year experience as laboratory scientist for specialty areas (BB, Flow, and Micro).
(Clinical internships of 12 months duration meet this requirement), preferred.
Three years of experience for Core Sciences areas of the laboratory, preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Scientist Cert from ASCP or AMT (BB, C, H, MT/MLS, M, MB), required.
Acceptable for Flow Cytometry only (if team member holds no other scientist certification): MDT(AMT) or SCYM(ASCP), required.
Additional Skills Required: New graduates must obtain certification within 12-months of hire.
Failure to do so will result in termination of employment.
All individuals who are newly certified ASCP beginning January 1, 2004, must participate and maintain ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) through the Certification Maintenance Program (CMP).
All individuals who are newly certified AMT beginning January 1, 2006, must participate and maintain AMT Certification Continuation Program (CCP).
Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tests and communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results.
Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
Skill in performing a full range of laboratory tests.
Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations.
Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public.
Ability to read and understand information about instrumentation in laboratory field.
Ability to follow written protocols.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Additional skills preferred: Specialist certifications from accreditation agencies.
