Summary:
A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients who are transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical or general inpatient units. These patients require frequent monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. They assess and manage complex patient needs, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
Essential Work Functions:
Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care
Prepares equipment and aids physician during cardiac-related procedures and examinations
Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's cardiac status and response to interventions
Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies
Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
Maintains confidentiality of patients and client
Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Mansfield OBGYN office is hiring a part-time casual (PRN) sonographer to assist with coverage at multiple office locations. This position independently performs requested ultrasound examinations, searching for any possible pathology as indicated by the patient's symptoms/medical history and/or results from previous testing. The position reviews and discusses the ultrasound findings with the radiologist and a diagnosis is made.

The Clinical Review Coordinator works closely with all departments to research and provide accurate and timely clinical review on complex, patient cases to ensure that approval is secured and to mitigate risk of technical and clinical denials. Reviews and comprehends patient progress notes, lab reports, infusion summaries, imaging reports, and plan of care. Identifies appropriate medical documentation that satisfies payer medical policy criteria.
Request additional clinical information when needed to render a decision and/or determine next steps
Assists with creation of clinical support packets to be used for the initial prior authorization and/or subsequent appeals
In cases of authorization denials, constructs and documents a succinct and fact-based clinical case to support appeal utilizing appropriate medical necessity criteria and other pertinent clinical facts.
Creates and maintains, a library of clinical support resources to include templates for appeals, journal articles, other reference tools that can be used to support medical necessity. When existing resources are unavailable search for supporting clinical evidence to support appeals.
Provides program support by staying current on the top payer covered services, medical necessity requirements and formulary details. Also, must be proficient in locating payer resources related to medical policies.
Assist with post service insurance denials & appeals
Participates in outcome programs including but not limited to data entry, reporting functions, and patient calls with necessary to complete denial support tasks
Provides inter-departmental training to increase teams' knowledge for top disease states and specialty drugs, clinical requirements, and prior authorization & appeal best practices

Partner with project managers to develop clinical workflows and train staff during the launch of new clinical services (e.g., Spravato)
Assist with crisis response training, including 1013 procedures

Ensure all offices comply with company safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements
Audit medication sample closets to ensure proper storage, maintenance, and disposal of expired medications
Travel to office locations to conduct quarterly medical assistant evaluations and clinical skill check-offs
Clinical Duties
Assist with patient triage in accordance with established clinical protocols
Support providers by addressing clinical questions during clinic hours
Oversee and support clinical treatments, including Spravato, ADHD testing, and TMS
Coordinate treatment workflows to promote patient safety, efficiency, and consistency across locations
Help facilitate and manage in-office crisis situations as needed
Provide procedural guidance and hands-on clinical support to staff when required
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field (Nursing, Healthcare Administration, etc.) preferred.
Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a clinical setting.
Strong understanding of emergency protocols and clinical operations.
Certification in CPR/AED training is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Under the general direction of the Revenue Manager, the Charge Capture Coordinator is primarily responsible for unit and area specific charge capture of clinical services and procedures within revenue producing departments throughout the system. The Charge Capture Coordinator's main role is to enter charges into existing computerized billing system (Cerner and or PBAR). The Charge Capture Coordinator will perform due diligence in entering all appropriate charges accurately and within a timely manner, including conducting reconciliation of department generated record with billing system report to ensure optimal charge capture; auditing for completeness, correcting, and resubmitting rejected charges and charge follow-up. The Charge Capture Coordinator is also responsible for communicating missing or incomplete clinical documentation and charge entry errors for clinical department process improvement.
Essential Duties:
Review department clinical documentation from multiple sources and enter hospital charges accurately, timely and in accordance with Keck Medical Center of USC charge capture policies/guidelines, into Patient Accounting System -Cerner or PBAR. .
Demonstrate proficiency in using Keck Medical Center of USC charge capture policies, rules, criteria and decision trees (algorithms) to assign the correct charge code.
Demonstrate understanding of CMS Medicare billing rules, regulations, and compliance related to outpatient intravenous infusion and chemotherapy administration charges, observation charging (and other service line charges.)
Perform daily charge reconciliation on accounts; check charges for accuracy and completeness, correct errors.
Follow processes to send appropriate notification to other parties such as Coding Manager, Clinical Department Manager, or Patient Accounting Manager. For example, notify the nursing team of incomplete medical records or coding questions.
Attend scheduled meetings and trainings and be accountable for what has been discussed in staff meetings.
Identify events requiring administrative review and forward these promptly to the appropriate Revenue Cycle Supervisor, Manager or Director.
Review own work for accuracy and completeness prior to end of shift.
Daily focus on attaining productivity standards, recommending new approaches for enhancing performance, and productivity when appropriate.
Identify and alert a member of the management staff of any situation that may negatively impact the patient, department operations, public relations, or the hospital's integrity.
Adhere to health information regulations including HIPAA.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The Progressive Care Unit RN, as a professional practitioner, assumes the responsibility and accountability for delivering patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. The Progressive Care Unit RN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision. This individual employs critical thinking and performance ability in the coordinator of patient care, consistently performs according to nursing standards, and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. The Progressive Care Unit RN is sometimes also called a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown and in some medical centers, the PCU is also known as a transition or intermedia unit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care on a progressive care unit
Performs focused interviews to identify specific patients' needs
Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses
Documents the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions
Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirements
Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard
Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment
Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education
Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventions
Documents patient's response to nursing and other interventions
Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including establishing priorities
Monitors safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment
Minimum Requirements:
Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
One year prior professional nursing experience preferred with one year progressive care unit experience preferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Nurse Corps Officers may serve at any one of more than 250 Navy and medical facilities around the globe, from Hawaii to Japan, Germany to Guam and Washington, D.C., to Washington state.
