The **Senior Clinical Pharmacist,** **Oncology Program** will lead and help develop Premera's oncology program as part of a core team. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with care management, utilization management, provider/member relations, and market-facing teams to enhance the oncology member experience and program outcomes. You are responsible for researching, developing, implementing, and communicating pharmacy initiatives, programs, and services to both internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures the clinically appropriate and cost-effective use of medication, aligning with and supporting Premera's clinical and financial goals. **What** **you'll** **do:**
+ Develop oncology drug class specific management strategies including but not limited to trend forecasting & monitoring, drug management strategies, rebate optimization, companion diagnostics, outcomes based or warranty negotiation
+ Measure outcomes of oncology drug strategies, document proof points, develop whitepaper and market facing program presentations
+ Lead provider engagement in reviewing new drug data, gathering input on new strategies, pathways and guidelines, proactive provider communicationsleveraging UM process for insights and opportunities
+ Lead the development of cost containment programse.g.develop dose rounding strategiesleveragingbest practice from academic oncology centers to enable adoption in community oncology practices
+ Maintain market intelligence (e.g.new drug development, best practice in cost containment, practice innovations from oncology practice community, evidence based national guidelines, opportunities in manufacturer warranty or outcomes-based agreements, etc.) to support innovations in PBC's effort in overall oncology program development
+ Provide consultative services for formulary and UM strategies, SFclientsneedspertaining tooncology, provider contracting related to oncology infusion therapies, member engagement, case management, Rx products, affordability programs, among others
+ Support peer to peer review as needed

Job Requirements
Education/Work Experience Requirements:
* BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited school of pharmacy that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities including didactic courses and experiential rotations in pharmaceutical care.
* One year of work experience in a hospital pharmacy within the past two years is preferred.
* Attainment of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree is preferred.
* Completion of a post-graduate pharmacy residency is preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
* Licensure as a registered pharmacist by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
* Membership in at least one of the following professional organizations is preferred: ASHP, ASCP, WSPA, APHA, or ACCP.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To be in attendance and on time. Maintains inventory control and monitors purchasing, receiving, stocking and return/recall of all drugs and pharmacy supplies through the use of an automated reporting system. Maintains a central computerized dispensing system by updating clinical information and price changes on each drug. Provides pharmaceutical information and guidance for all health division departments involved in prescribing and monitoring medications. Monitor working environment to assure effective use of resources. Fills and dispenses prescriptions following proper procedures and ensuring safe and accurate pharmacy operations. Monitors drug therapy by evaluating patient medical history, drug interactions, adverse reactions, therapeutic duplications, dosages and compliance with prescription orders. Provides medication education to patients based on appropriate needs and understanding. Works cooperatively with providers to offer the best medication management for the patient. Participates in interdisciplinary team concept to provide high quality healthcare to the patients, both at MIT Health Clinic and with outside providers. At all times works with patients and staff in a respectful and courteous manner, demonstrating the highest commitment to customer services. Facilitates proper pharmacy billing processes and communicates with appropriate departments. Conflict management and resolution skills as they apply to staff and patient care issues. EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION

Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Clinical Pharmacist, you'll help our doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help our patients feel better and recover from their illness or injury. We never rely entirely on the computer to check for safety; we always use an expert for the final check. That's you. You'll review prescriptions for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies or anything that looks unusual in your opinion.
To excel in this role, you must enjoy learning new concepts and researching information in real-time to provide solutions for our patients. You should also continually look for ways to go above and beyond for your patients, delivering an exceptional experience along with exceptional care.
* Demonstrates ability to document clinical activities and interventions such as consults, patient teachings and other patient specific information as defined by policy and procedure.
* Interprets medication orders and/or prescriptions for drug interactions, appropriate drug selection and appropriateness. Accurately enters / verifies the order or prescription into the computer system, labels, and dispenses medications in a timely manner.
* Verifies and checks medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel.
* Communicates drug information to patients and health professionals. Resolves drug related problems by consulting with other health care professionals to achieve appropriate patient outcomes. Unclear orders written by a licensed provider are clarified with the licensed provider. Assists the licensed provider in appropriate drug selection and therapeutic regimens.
* Achieves and maintains an adequate basic knowledge base to provide clinical services for all age groups served. Provides basic clinical services as required by policy and procedure.

WORK SCHEDULE * Full-Time / 40 hours per week * Evening Shifts HIGHLIGHTS * Be responsible for performing and supervising the dispensing functions in the Inpatient, IV Admixture, and Satellite Pharmacies
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Conduct a thorough patient profile review to assess the appropriateness of the prescribed medication including monitoring for drug duplications, interactions, allergies, appropriate dose, strength, and route of administration at the time each order is received; document relevant information in medical record as required.
* Promote rational, cost-effective drug therapy by promoting the use of formulary items and optimizing patient care through appropriate selection of treatment options.
* Direct pharmacy technicians in all areas of technical responsibilities.
* Provide drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other members of the health care team.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience in pharmacy practice or completion of an American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists accredited residency training program.
