Compounding Pharmacist

Purpose
The Compounding Pharmacist will support the Associate Director of Operations and is responsible for supervising production operations of Compounded Sterile Preparations by implementing and maintaining Sterile Compounding policies/strategies in alignment with all regulatory authorities/guidance's and Hikma Corporate plans and policies. The Compounding Pharmacist will also evaluate any possible significant trends across the site and help drive continuous improvement efforts to adhere to regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure adherence to batch records and aseptic techniques.
Monitor Compounding personnel for compliance with gowning, behavior and aseptic technique.
Conduct Investigations for manufacturing deviations.
Execute CAPAs & Change Controls.
Provide Aseptic Training
Provide oversight of compounding and production activities, ensuring compliance with the FDA CFR, including cGMP and DEA regulations, as well as State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
Keep abreast of relevant guidance documents pertaining to 503B production.
Monitor and communicate changes in regulations of all state and federal regulatory agencies.
Assist in new 503B product development, including collaborating on labeling, stability study protocols, Master Batch Records, and product specification requirements ensuring compliance with all company procedures and federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.
Attain all non-resident Pharmacist licenses within 1 year.
Primary Accountabilities:
Assist the Associate Director of Compounding Operations ,daily oversight of compounding personnel and compounding operations in cleanroom environments. . Review, prepare and approve manufacturing deviations, master batch records and site change controls related to 503B Compounding Operations.
Participate in the administration of Site Projects and New Product Launches to support 503B operations.
Assist in the development and provision of GMP, Aseptic Behavior, and Quality Systems-related training to all applicable departments.
Provide technical support in the interactions with and applications to state and federal regulatory bodies.
Provide assistance in collection of documents and records regarding state licensing and renewals for state boards of pharmacy.
Assist in writing, review and update of batch records, SOPs, and other cGMP documents.
Maintain current pharmacist licenses in required states, as directed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD required.
State of New Jersey license as a pharmacist is required. Multiple state licenses preferred or ability to obtain state license for the following (AL, AR, ID, KS, MI, MS, NV, NY, OH, OK, KY, VA).
503B Compounding experience and/or USP 797 knowledge and experience required.
Knowledge of sterile compounding practices.
Knowledge of associated standards and operating procedures in relation to cGMP.
Knowledge of 503B practices, aseptic processes (gowning, garbing, gloving etc.)
A broad perspective to organize objectives, both long-term and day-to-day activities
Experience:
Minimum:
Pharmacist for a 503B outsourcing facility located in New Jersey preferred
New Jersey licensure is required, as well as the ability to obtain multiple state licenses.
Previous experience with 503B outsourcing, USP 797, and/or hospital IV compounding would be an advantage.

Job Summary:
The Pharmacist shall coordinate, collaborate and provide expertise in support of clinical investigational drug trials; perform training responsibilities; provide accurate and efficient dispensing of medication; perform administrative responsibilities; maintain overall responsibility for pharmacy operations; perform cross functional duties as required.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Comply with current protocols, SOPs, GCPs, IRB and FDA guidelines.
Monitors pharmacy activities on a daily basis to ensure adherence to study protocols and dispensing procedures.
Prepare and dispense investigational drugs in accordance with the IRB-approved protocols as directed by the Principal Investigator.
Review protocols and investigator's brochures or other additional information supplied by the Principal Investigator and the study sponsor for clinical investigational drug trials as required.
Provide training and professional expertise on the correct use and storage of study drug for study staff.
Handle and maintain Investigational Product (IP) management system for receipt, accountability, storage and disposal.
Prepare blinded study products and be responsible for emergency un-blinding, if required.
Ensure the appropriate storage of investigational drugs according to the protocol and FDA guidelines.
Monitor temperature of pharmacy storage areas and report any temperature deviations of study drug to sponsor.
Communicate with the study team any discrepancies/violations noted during pharmacy procedures.
Attend sponsor Investigator's meetings, site initiations, web/teleconferences and staff meetings as needed.
Develop standard operating procedures for the pharmacy department to comply with company and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and maintain budget for the pharmacy department.

The primary responsibilities of the CIC RPh involve monitoring clinical clarifications, change in prescriptions, backorders and anything else that would hinder the dispensing of medication to a patient. Communicate national backorder issues with center. Determine if alternative orders are required or for short term out of stock issues, utilizing backup pharmacies.

Job Duties
Billing
Generate statements, insurance forms, and patient bills according to daily schedule.
Retrieve dictated reports or progress notes.
Review all reports for medications listed and forward the errors to Excelsia Physician's office for corrections.
Forward billing errors to the treating offices for review and/or corrections.
Finalize and prepare bills and documents for submission (electronic and paper).
Communicate with pharmacy staff to obtain accurate information.
File fee review for denied bills (worker's compensation claims).
Submit New Jersey precerts for NJ MVA.
Translates Spanish speaking patient information to pharmacist and staff to ensure medication safety.
Other duties as assigned.
Collecting
Review AR and follow up on unpaid accounts (includes sending attorney ledgers).
Review accounts in all databases (where applicable) for accuracy.
Resubmit claims if necessary.
Forward the following adjustments /corrections to the designated employees at the Corporate Office: write offs, payment adjustments, refunds, etc.
Assist attorneys, adjustors, and patients with account information and billing questions. Obtain billing information if missing.
Work A/R correspondence.
Complete daily A/R log
Communicate with Corporate Office or other office staff as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Working knowledge of insurance billing and collection procedures
