Actively supports reporting of Pharmacy Interventions, Adverse Drug Reactions, and Medication Errors.

What You Will Do
To support and assist Home Infusion Services, Hospice and Sharp Central Pharmacy Services in providing delivery of medications, supplies and DME. Provides quality medical care to patients in the home setting and customers at the hospital entities.
Required Qualifications
* H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
* 1 Year driving experience.
* Driver's License - CA Department of Motor Vehicles -REQUIRED
Other Qualification Requirements
* Utilizes reliable transportation and possesses adequate personal insurance coverage. Demonstrates clean driving record in accordance with requirements of the employer DMV pull notice program and Sharp HealthCare Driver Guidelines.
Essential Functions
* Accurately and safely processes discontinued supplies
Informs pharmacist/technician of all medications needing to be discarded.
Returns all DME to proper location for cleaning and repair. Does quality control checks and maintenance on pumps between patient use and performs cleaning on returned pumps and poles.
Returns unused supplies to the Home Infusion pharmacy for proper disposal.
Returns and discards sharps containers to proper location and maintains sharps container return log.
Picks up mail from the Home Health/Hospice offices and the U.S. Post Office P.O. box. To be picked up 3-5 times weekly.
* Accurately and safely transports patients' medications
Verifies patients address and assures someone is at the home to accept the delivery via phone call.
Drives vehicle in a safe manner following all traffic laws 100% of the time.
Assures refrigerated items are transported in cold packs and/or cooler.
Maintains mileage log.
Delivers narcotic prescriptions to patients and hospitals in a safe and secure manner.
Assists account analysts with collections (private pay or co-pays) from customers upon deliveries.
Assist patients with pump and pole set up upon initial delivery.
* Inventory
Assures adequate inventory for medical supplies by assisting staff with orders from distribution and outside vendors.
Checks par levels, rotates stock and assists the pharmacy buyer with enteral products and IV solutions inventories.
Checks DME in and out of the Home Infusion software program. Generates reports twice weekly. Add or deletes DME in the software program as needed.
Assures Home Infusion has an adequate supply of infusion devices and ancillary supplies on hand to service patients in a timely manner.
Takes pouches and fannie packs for infusion pumps to the linen service for cleaning. Maintain inventory to assure availability.
Assures that there are spare supplies (feeding bags, alcohol wipes, gloves, etc.) in the vehicle for unexpected deliveries.
* Vehicle maintenance
Assure transport vehicle is cleaned on a bi-weekly (twice a month) basis.
Takes vehicle to dealer or other authorized mechanic for routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
Report any needed repairs, potential problems, accidents or damage of the vehicle to management immediately.
Makes copies of gas receipts and report data to Materials Management weekly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
* Good command of verbal and written English.
* Willing to stay beyond normal end of shift hours in cases of need.
* Familiar with all areas of San Diego County.
* Computer skilled for order entry.
* Background in a healthcare field helpful.
