Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacist will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services provided by Coalinga Regional Medical Center, including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture. They will interpret physician's orders for medications, compound and dispense prescribed drugs. The Pharmacist will maintain records on all medication orders filled for inpatient use. The Pharmacist will evaluate pharmacological, chemical, or physical incompatibilities in physician's orders, and communicate the evaluation to physicians. They will participate in distribution of medications to patients as well as educate them on their medications. She/he will dispense floor stock controlled substances and maintain inventory records.
