Basic Qualifications
BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 1 year experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance.

Ensures continuity of pharmaceutical care to and from the home and other patient-care settings. Uses a systematic procedure to communicate pertinent patient information to and from the home and other patient-care settings. Prepares and dispenses medications using appropriate techniques and following Option Care policies and procedures. Accurately calibrates equipment. Prepares medications so they are appropriately concentrated, without incompatibilities, stable, and appropriately stored. Adheres to appropriate safety and quality assurance practices. Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents and equipment error and/or failures. Accurately completes QAR documents according to the Option Care policy. The Staff Pharmacist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices

+ Proactively offering and delivering immunizations to keep patients healthy; engaging and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
+ Supporting the effective management of pharmacy inventory by following-and coaching the pharmacy team to follow-all inventory best practices, with a special focus on protecting cold chain products for our patients and our business
+ Partnering with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure pharmacy operations are compliant with the appropriate state Board of Pharmacy regulations at all times; escalating issues or concerns to the Pharmacy Manager and/or Rx DL for timely resolution if/as needed
+ Remaining flexible for both scheduling and business needs, while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; supporting the Pharmacy Manager by writing the pharmacy schedule if/as directed

Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
Licensed in the state(s) of practice or eligible for reciprocity required
Immunization and non-vaccine injectable certification required based on area of practice
Credentialing and privileging required based on area of practice
Education Required:
Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy required, or an FPGEC certificate from NABP
Experience Required:
No experience required. Two years acute care hospital pharmacy experience, PGY-2 residency or previous hospital experience preferred. Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, and other healthcare team members to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality of patient care required.

Life support training courses may be required dependent on department discretion
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Requires considerable walking, standing, pushing mobile cart of 50 pounds maximum and lifting 35 pounds of material without assistance
Exposed to various conditions throughout the workday such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs and changes in temperature and humidity
May be required to frequently stretch, bend, squat, or kneel to perform job
Utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize exposure to hazardous agents
Takes necessary precautions to avoid inadvertent needle sticks, minor cuts or bruises
Must be able to perform manipulative skills such as writing, typing, and data entry into the computer and automated dispensing machines
Must have use of both hands, be able to see clearly and read small font such as that on unit-dose medication packages and syringes
Must have functional speech, vision, and hearing
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job
Exposed to normal office environment
