Responsibilities:
* Responsible for evaluating, preparing, and dispensing of medications; verifies prescribed medications according to professional standards, facility procedures, and state and federal legal requirements.
* Provides excellent customer service and clinical care.

* Reviews and evaluates patient's plan of care for therapeutic appropriateness.

* Participates in achieving business goals and metrics for the ambulatory pharmacy, including assisting in marketing events and promotions.
* Assists in the fiscal management of the ambulatory pharmacy to optimize profits and control expenses for the ambulatory pharmacy consistently consulting with the other relevant managers and directors.
* Assists with managing all functions for the ambulatory pharmacy technicians such as hiring, training, and performance management.
* Monitors the overall performance of all ambulatory pharmacy staff members to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies, practices and approved pharmaceutical dispensing processes.
* Makes recommendations to the managers regarding any changes to improve operating procedures, or to improve and facilitate patient care.
* Assists in maintaining and executing all established procedures concerning quality improvement, quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and record keeping.
* Submits, reviews, and handles all adjudicated prescription claims to ensure appropriateness of reimbursement, co-pay and related financials and, if needed, follows up all such claims deemed inappropriate.
* Promptly and appropriately responds to patient inquiries, requests and issues when situations are escalated to a higher level of authority. Follows through on closing any outstanding patient concerns to provide a superior level of customer care.
* Provides consultation on pharmacy and therapeutic matters to various levels of organizational personnel.
* Assists and reviews daily reporting and scheduling of hours worked for the pharmacy technicians to include sick time, vacation time, personal and holiday time and adjusts scheduling as appropriate to assure optimal patient care is maintained.
* Supervises activities relative to patient profiles and contacts, ensuring that they are updated as needed for insurance verification and regulatory compliance.
* Participates in departmental meetings and in-service training for pharmacy technicians.
* Works collaboratively with organizational personnel on quality, satisfaction, service excellence, clinical care, etc. as needed.
* Operates the point-of-sale system
* Performs related duties as assigned.
Education:
Normally requires Bachelors of Science Degree or Pharm D degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy a Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy; current, unrestricted pharmacist license through the appropriate state board of pharmacy. Also requires broad training and/or experience in the fields of business administration, sales, marketing, information technology and retail/ambulatory pharmacy. Normally requires one (1) to three (3) years of directly related and progressively responsible retail/ambulatory care pharmacy experience.

Job Description: Pharmacists play a vital role in healthcare by ensuring that patients receive the appropriate medications, counseling on their use, and supporting overall healthcare management. Key Responsibilities:
Dispensing Medications: Accurately and safely dispense prescribed medications to patients in accordance with physician orders and pharmacy regulations.
Medication Counseling: Provide patients with information on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions to ensure safe and effective use.
Prescription Review: Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and legality.
Patient Safety Monitoring: Monitor and track the effectiveness and safety of medications through patient feedback, laboratory data, and follow-up care.
Drug Therapy Management: Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and adjust patient-specific drug therapies based on medical conditions and treatment goals.
Inventory Management: Ensure that the pharmacy maintains proper inventory levels of medications, and is compliant with regulations for controlled substances.
Compounding: Prepare and compound medications as required, following specific formulas and techniques.
Patient Education: Provide educational materials and counseling to patients regarding lifestyle changes, health management, and medication adherence.
Health Screenings: Conduct health screenings (e.g., for cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes) when applicable.
Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
Skills and Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
Active state pharmacy license (or certification, depending on the state).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of drug interactions, contraindications, and pharmacokinetics.
Ability to provide patient education and counseling.
Licensure and Certification: Pharmacists are required to be licensed in all states in the U.S. The licensing requirements include:
Education: A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited school.
Examinations: Pharmacists must pass the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and, in many cases, a state-specific law exam (e.g., Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination, MPJE).
Internship/Experience: Most states require a certain number of internship hours as part of the education requirement.
Continuing Education: Pharmacists are typically required to complete continuing education (CE) credits to maintain their licenses.
State-Specific Certification or Licensure Requirements:

Our technicians play an important role in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care in communities that are most in need. Pharmacy Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00AM - 6:30PM, Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM
Responsibilities:
Maintain professional working relationships at all times, with the pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel.
Understand that the requirements of working in a pharmacy are varied and may change as demands on the department change.
Be available to the customer/patients at all times.
Maintain friendly and helpful attitude at all times when dealing with customers.
Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by profiling prescriptions; preparing labels and calculating quantities
Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and ordering when needed
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Works with pharmacy team to ensure best practices are being followed with regards to 340B
Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent, preferred
Registration in state in which the position is located (if applicable)
PTCB Certification or ability to get certified within 180 days of employment
At least 2 years with retail pharmacy technician related experience
340B experience preferred
Vendor credentialing may be required
Anticipated hourly range: $16.40 per hour - $21.15 per hour
