Provides information to physicians, nurses, health care professionals and the public on the treatment of acute toxic or suspected toxic ingestions and drug therapy. Maintains necessary records for the service area, such as drug distribution, charge information, controlled substance dispensing, and drug pre-packaging records. Assists with the order, receipt, monitor, control and storage of pharmaceuticals. Participates in the development, review, maintenance and enforcement of the Formulary of Accepted Drugs. Participates in drug utilization review activities, medical audits, and medical care evaluations. Demonstrates effective judgment and ability to understand, react effectively and treat (if appropriate) the unique needs of patient age groups served. Adheres to sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous drug preparation guidelines in compliance with medical center policies and regulatory agency requirements.
