Basic Qualifications
BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 1 year experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance.

Define critical metrics and clinical benchmarks for program success
Monitor adherence, persistence, and adverse event reporting and reconciliation
Support real-world evidence generation and outcomes-based contracting
Inventory & Supply Chain
Support for the negotiation of contracts with wholesalers, specialty distributors, GPOs, and courier services
Oversight of specialty pharmacy purchasing and procurement with previous experience collaborating with wholesalers and group purchasing organizations within prime vendor agreements
Development and oversight of procedures for procurement, inventory management proper storage, and disposal of specialty medications

Job Summary
The PRN/Flex Inpatient Pharmacist at St. Luke's Health System - Nampa is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based pharmaceutical care to patients within the medical center. This role supports inpatient pharmacy operations by providing flexible coverage to ensure continuity of care during staff absences. The pharmacist collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical and Patient Care
* Review, evaluate, and verify the appropriateness of prescribed medication therapy, including dosing, interactions, allergies, contraindications, and therapeutic duplications.
* Provide medication-related information, education, and consultation to patients, nurses, physicians, and other members of the medical staff.
* Perform cognitive clinical pharmacy services such as medication reconciliation, therapeutic monitoring, renal dosing adjustments, antimicrobial stewardship support, and clinical interventions.
* Document clinical findings, recommendations, and actions in the electronic medical record in accordance with medical center standards and regulatory requirements.
* Administer medications as appropriate, including emergency and patient-specific therapies.
* Administer vaccinations in accordance with state law, organizational policy, and clinical guidelines.
Medication Preparation and Distribution
* Interpret physician orders and prescriptions accurately.
* Compound, prepare, and dispense medications in compliance with federal and state regulations, USP standards, and health system policies.
* Ensure safe handling, storage, preparation, and distribution of medications, including controlled substances and high-risk medications.
Supervision and Leadership
* Supervise, authorize, and verify the work of pharmacy technicians, interns, externs, residents, and support staff.
* Provide guidance, feedback, and support to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to pharmacy standards.
* Serve as a role model and mentor to technicians, students, residents, and new practitioners, promoting professional development and best practices.
Operational and Administrative Duties
* Prepare and maintain accurate records related to medication therapy, prescriptions, patient charges, medical records, and inventory control.
* Support compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, state board of pharmacy).
* Assist with training and onboarding of pharmacy staff, students, interns, and residents as needed.
* Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts.
Education
* Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college or university of pharmacy.
Experience

Must obtain license from the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
In depth knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations related to pharmacy and medication use processes is required. Minimum of three years of experience in a relevant pharmacy setting; residency may be accepted in lieu of three years experience. Relevant board certification is highly encouraged. Knowledge of standards of care for oncology patients is required. Within 6 months of hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Supervises and participates in the compounding and dispensing of chemotherapy and other antineoplastics. Minimizes drug waste, minimizes unnecessary exposure to hazardous substances, and manages the cost and reimbursement for antineoplastics.
Supports the multidisciplinary team by serving as the medication expert. Directs patient care, patient education, and participates in clinical decision making Works collaboratively with other health care professionals to develop institutional guidelines and make evidence-based decisions designed to improve patient care. Prescribes supportive care medications, updates prescriptions, and orders accompanying labs and tests through an inclusive oncology collaborative practice agreement.
Participates in policy and program development to improve safety, efficacy, and quality of cancer care. Prepares pharmaceutical products for patients' use by safe and cost-effective methods using acceptable professional standards. Provides mentorship and is a clinical resource for staff, pharmacy students, pharmacy residents and other healthcare providers in the area of medical oncology.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric as applicable). Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients. Overview:
St. Luke's is looking for a part-time Pharmacist to join our Meridian, Idaho Inpatient Pharmacy Team. The Pharmacist is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients and customers of the medical center.
What to expect:
* Review appropriateness of prescribed medication therapy.
* Provide medication information and consultation to patients, nurses and medical staff.
* Interpret prescriptions, compound and dispense medications.
* Supervise and authorize the work of technicians, externs, interns and support staff.
* Prepare and maintains all necessary records on medication therapy, prescriptions, patient charges, medical records and inventory.
* Perform cognitive clinical pharmacy services and document findings and actions in accordance with standards of the medical center.
* Administer medications as appropriate.
* Administer vaccinations as appropriate.
* May assist in the training of technicians, externs, interns, residents and other department staff.
* Serve as a role model and mentor to technicians, students, residents and new practitioners.
Requirements:
* Education: Degree from an accredited pharmacy program

* Licenses/Certifications: Valid Pharmacist License in state of practice AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
