Basic Qualifications

Work with appropriate pharmacy technician in reconciling Controlled Substances perpetual inventory as required by management for compliance with state and federal regulations
Provide clinical expertise by responding to drug-related questions and concerns initiated by internal staff and external customers
Document all communication with physicians, nurses, other members of the healthcare team and patients/residents and their family members in the medical record
Preparation and/or supervision of all sterile IV drug products or solutions
Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during rotation and as required by management

We are looking for an energetic, patient caring, critical thinking, person that can communicate, both written and verbally. Previous LTC experience is a plus, but not necessary for the right candidate.

Essential Functions:
Assist and manage pharmacy technicians as required and as necessary
Assist with phone calls as necessary
IV experience is a positive
Oversee proper inventory management and medication ordering
Assist with and oversee Medication Returns and E-Kit management
Develop and supervise medication management systems to ensure that adequate supplies of medications are available to meet resident care needs, stored under appropriate and secure conditions, delivered to residents in a timely, safe, and efficient manner, and labeled appropriately.

Job Specifications:
Comply with State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations at all times
Maintain required Continuing Education credits
Maintain current licensing by the state(s) in which he/she practices
Physical Demands:
Must be able to routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment up to 100% of the time;
Regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate effectively over the phone and in person;
Must be able to see 100% of the time to recognize medications, detect inaccuracies, and observe the work of others;
This position is very active and requires standing for long periods, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping;
Must be able to lift and/or transport materials weighing up to 25 pounds, up to 10% of the time;
Must be able to tolerate normal office/pharmacy environment and exposure to various medications
