Completes monthly assigned nursing unit / drug storage area inspections on time. Completes paperwork including inspection log, documents discrepancies, and makes recommendations for improvement. Brings critical issues to the attention of management.
Participates in attaining compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals as demonstrated by saving and forwarding orders/examples to management or designee (i.e. of no VO/TO completed, no prohibited abbreviations, use of "resume all meds", etc).
Participates & assists in the collection of med tracer audits or collection of individual elements from the tracer tool.
Ensures security of medication storage and compliance with Medication Management (MM) standards (i.e. all meds are labeled, patient own meds are checked, bedside medications have associated physician orders, no expired meds, and the physical security of medications is maintained).

Summary
The Drug Classification & Maintenance Pharmacist participates in the development and maintenance of Core Formulary Processes focusing on the Formulary Maintenance Weekly Drug Update activities including Proxy and CUI maintenance related to the Part D MedImpact Standard and Custom formularies and other functions as required

Monitors drug vendor and regulatory bodies for operational or strategic market changes. Collaborates with the MedImpact National Drug Data File (NDDF) Team as well as MedImpact Drug Information Services to ensure success.
• Performs complex data analytics based upon external drug data provided to MedImpact by FDB, MediSpan, RXNorm and CMS FRF.
• Acts as a clinical and analytical subject matter expert on areas pertaining to Part D drug mapping and classification and supports development and implementation of mapping and PPDL programs.
• Responsible for interpretation and implementation of CMS guidance related to each of the Part D PPDL drug lists. Maintains Formulary Services' CMS Part D Pre-Processing Drug Lists (PPDL) which include weekly review and yearly update CMS_PPDL Drug Lists: The accurate maintenance of lists is essential to CMS Part D compliance and accurate claim adjudication.

The Staff Pharmacist works to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare by providing excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic pharmacy team environment. Responsibilities
Reviews prescriptions issued by the Physician, or other authorized prescriber to ensure accuracy and appropriateness

Ensures accurate verification and dispensing, including proper dosages and indications
Provides patient consultation for all new prescriptions, when requested by the patient, or when in the patient's best interest
