ABOUT THE ROLE The Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for supporting NeueHealth's pharmacy operations. The Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for providing support to clinical programs, managing oversight of the drug pipelines (generic and new brands), and providing support to each market to increase drug affordability, improve quality measures and positively impact the member experience. Responsibilities & Duties * Serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for a Florida-licensed veterinary pharmacy * Ensure full compliance with Florida Board of Pharmacy (BOP), DEA regulations, and state/federal dispensing laws * Review, verify, and dispense veterinary prescriptions with accuracy and clinical integrity * Oversee prescription processing workflows and quality assurance for mail-order operations * Maintain required records, logs, inventories, and reports per regulatory standards * Develop and enforce SOPs for safe, compliant, and efficient pharmacy operations * Provide clinical guidance on veterinary pharmaceuticals and dosing * Oversee controlled substance storage, reporting, and compliance * Lead, mentor, and supervise pharmacy support team members * Coordinate pharmacy fulfillment for Inspire Veterinary hospitals in Florida * Support product expansion, vendor relationships, and formulary management * Prepare for and lead inspections and audits * Deliver exceptional service to veterinarians, clients, and internal partners * Uphold a culture of ethics, safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement * Ensure proper handling and labeling of veterinary-specific medications, including species-specific dosing and contraindications * Collaborate with veterinary professionals to optimize therapeutic outcomes and ensure safe medication use in animals * Monitor adverse drug reactions and report veterinary pharmacovigilance data as required * Stay current with veterinary pharmacology developments, compounding standards, and emerging therapies * Train pharmacy staff on veterinary-specific protocols, terminology, and client communication * Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve veterinary care delivery and pharmacy integration * This role must meet all responsibilities of a Pharmacist in Charge as defined by the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Primary Responsibilities: Drug Management & Compliance: The Pharmacy Specialist assists staff in the receipt, storage, dispensing, and return of drug products while acting as a liaison with Pharmacy management, Clinical teams, Project Managers, and Operations. This role prepares and reviews the accuracy of labels, assists in packaging of doses, and accounts for all dosage units entering and leaving the Clinic per FDA regulations and guidelines and per study protocol requirements. The specialist assures proper protocol and regulatory procedures are followed in the receipt and handling of drug by team members and other staff responsible for dosing. Quality Assurance: The Pharmacy Specialist assists in assuring that study drug product prepared and/or checked by pharmacy technical staff is of the highest quality standards to ensure the safety of the study participants and integrity of the study. This includes assisting with the completion of all required in-house sterile technique skills tests for all staff. Training & Development: The Pharmacy Specialist assists in the continued evaluation of a training program for Clinic staff that interacts with the pharmacy, to assure compliance with pharmacy procedures. Sponsor Relations & Study Close-Out: The Pharmacy Specialist interacts with sponsors and clients in regard to potential and on-going studies, explaining K2 Med procedures and responding to sponsor/client requests regarding handling of drug, close-out issues, and other operational matters. This role assures close-out of studies are handled properly, including ensuring drug is returned to sponsor, stored correctly, or otherwise managed depending on protocol and sponsor requirements. Additional Duties: The Pharmacy Specialist performs other duties as assigned to support the expanding needs of both Phase 1 and outpatient pharmacy operations.
