Basic Qualifications
BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 1 year experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance.

Qualifications:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Preforms order entry, verifies order is entered and filled correctly, ensures prescription is accurately prepared for patient pick up. Counsels' patients or family members on the proper use, storage, potential side effects, and disposal of all medications dispensed.
Orders and interprets laboratory tests per collaborative practice agreement.
Addresses problem prescriptions in a timely manner prior to processing by addressing with the medical provider.
Uses clinical judgement to extend refills or provide partial prescriptions until next scheduled appointment under the provider's name per facility collaborative practice agreement.
Proactively assesses prescribing patterns to promote the safe use of appropriate medication therapy.

Major Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
Outpatient Pharmacy Functions
* Ensures efficient and timely workload management of the local prescription pending file and act as a liaison and resolve problems as they arise with this program.
* Responsible for cost saving opportunities by actively being involved in formulary management activities.

* Ensures that information such as generic name of drug, manufacturer's name, lot number, control number, shipment number, etc., are properly entered into unit dose packaging machine and are recorded on log books and on labels, when appropriate.
Clinical Functions

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in pharmacy.
Licensure as a registered pharmacist from a state, the District of Columbia, or a territory of the United States
