The Oncology Pharmacist assists with providing comprehensive care for patients with various types of cancer. The pharmacist reviews chemotherapy orders to ensure accuracy, safety and efficiency. The Pharmacist collaborates with physicians and nurses to promote desirable patient outcomes. Oversees sterile compounding activities to maintain safety and compliance with regulatory standards. 7. Prepares, mixes and compounds sterile medications adhering to aseptic procedures, including chemotherapy drugs and other hazardous drugs. 8. Educates patients, family, and staff about medication treatments and care plans. 9. Monitors therapeutic drugs to optimize treatment and improve patient outcomes. 10. Participates in oncology disease related groups to support development of treatment guidelines, protocols, and formulary updates. 11. Performs pharmacokinetic dosing for specified medications. Coordinates organizational compliance with clinical research protocols, REMS programs, and assists with the development of evidence based treatment plans. 13.
