Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region's only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

Straub's Geriatric Medicine physicians provide ongoing care for older people, including home visits and primary care to nursing home patients. The department emphasizes coordinating services and identifying the support necessary to maintain patients in their own homes as much as possible. Outpatient consultations for memory loss and other specific geriatric syndromes are also available. Position: The role you would play on our Multi-Disciplinary Team

The Clinic Aide assists clinical programs and general operations with a variety of sanitation, administrative, and support tasks. This position is integral in keeping a clean, safe, and efficient work environment for clinical therapy.


The current opening is for full time work, approximately 10:30am-7:00pm Monday through Friday.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide childcare for clients during hourly transitional periods between sessions, late pickup, unforeseen gaps in therapy schedules, and short clinician breaks.
  • Clean and sanitize surfaces and therapy toys, tools, dishes, and other materials on a regular basis.
  • Support clinicians in therapy sessions by retrieving materials, cleaning up after accidents & messes, assisting with physical management of clients, and other tasks.
  • Maintain and improve safety and organization of clinic materials and spaces.
  • Assist clinicians to facilitate Social Skills Groups and other group programs.
  • Coordinate with Operations Manager and external job coaches to assign tasks to Clinic Support - Assistants.
  • Maintain and restock cleaning supplies and PPE materials through clinic spaces.
  • Manage ordering, unpacking, and organization of supplies and document transactions in accounting software.
  • Assist with janitorial tasks such as refilling dispensers and emptying trash and recycling.
  • Maintain first aid kits and restock materials.
  • Assist in processing and filing completed patient paperwork.
  • Navigate EMR/scheduling systems to check patient schedules.
  • Communicate with families during late pick up or schedule misunderstandings.
  • Assist with clinic signage and special event setup & cleanup.
  • Create therapy materials as requested.
  • Respond to and follow-up on support requests concerning clinical program support needs.
  • Observe therapy sessions to improve client management skills and explore therapy topics as desired.
