Role & Responsibilities:
Serve as member of a study team to execute clinical trials

Apply project management concepts to manage risk and improve quality in the conduct of a clinicalresearch study
Develop, coordinate, and implement research and administrative strategies to successfully manage assigned protocols.
Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, leadership, study subjects, sponsors, CROs, and vendors.
Ensure good documentation practices are applied by team members when collecting and correcting data, transferring data to sponsor/CRO data capture systems and resolving queries
Ensure confidentiality of patient protected health information, sponsor confidential information and Eximia ClinicalResearch confidential information is maintained by all team members
Develop communication and escalation strategies within teams to that ensure patient safety is upheld and all adverse events, serious adverse events, and adverse events of special interest are followed and reported in accordance with the protocol and Eximia ClinicalResearch SOPs
Ensure all data is entered into the sponsor's data portal and all queries are resolved in a timely manner
Ensure staff are delegated and trained appropriately and documented
Ensure the creation, collection and submission of regulatory documents to Sponsors and IRBs as required per protocol, GCP/ICH regulations and IRB requirements.
Evaluate potential subjects for participation in clinical trials including phone and in person prescreens.
Create and execute recruitment strategies in conjunction with patient recruitment staff
Incorporate key timelines, endpoints, required vendors, and patient population when planning for each assigned protocol.
Incorporate understanding of how decisions affect the bottom-line including links between operations and company's financial performance and how it is essential to create value of all stakeholders of the organization when planning for each assigned protocol.
Incorporate understanding of product development lifecycle and significance of protocol design including critical data points when planning for each assigned protocol
Develop Quality Control strategies for team member projects
Perform clinical duties (e.g. Drug preparation and administration, fibroscan, phlebotomy, ECG, lab processing) within scope
Promote respect for cultural diversity and conventions with all individuals.
Understand the disease process or condition under study

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years as a ClinicalResearch Coordinator
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Phlebotomy if applicable and required by state law
Intravenous/Intramuscular dose administration and preparation if applicable and required by state law
Certified ClinicalResearch Coordinator through ACRP or SOCRA within six months of being in the role

Your Role: Research Scientist - Clinical Study Management
The Research Scientist - Clinical Study Management position is responsible for the management of pivotal, regulated and non-pivotal studies at Elanco sites and Contract Research Organizations. Overview

The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Radiology is seeking a Clinical Trials Research Assistant/Data Manager! The Clinical Trials Research Assistant/Data Manager is responsible for the screening, recruitment, consenting, enrolling, assessment and monitoring of subjects for studies using novel magnetic resonance imaging to evaluate lung function in chronic lung diseases, including lung transplant rejection, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and lung cancer. In addition, this position will be responsible for assuring study compliance and reviewing data quality and management and communicating concerns to the principal investigator. Other job requirements will include organization of data for analysis, support for paper and grant submissions, and coordination of research activities with a diverse group of investigators.
Duties include:
Screen, recruit, consent, enroll, assess and monitor subjects for both general research and clinical trial projects.
Assist with subject recruitment by mining databases and EPIC.
Assist with clinical and data coordination for research activities and set up supplies for study visits.
Participates in clinicalresearch visits, which includes Epic documentation, checking vitals, portable pulmonary function testing, drawing blood and placement of IV's.
Assist in managing data, including the storage, reporting and auditing to assess quality assurance.
Perform all data processing tasks; enter data, verify data, generate queries, etc.
Coordinate the processing of data from various sites/centers/studies.
Process specimens per protocol, as well as store specimens, maintain lab areas, inventories, orders.
Assist in retrieval of basic study data as it pertains to specimens.
Monitors visit reports for studies.
Assist with the submission of IRB protocols, work with department Regulatory Specialist to ensure timely updating of information for submissions.
Consult with researchers to assist in study planning, development and support of a data management plan, design forms to facilitate the collection and tracking of study participant data, drugs, specimens and study procedures.
Design and coordinate field tests for data collection forms and assist in the design of these procedures
Manages and maintain protocols.
Research, change, and submit protocol amendments for IRB approval.
Prepares IRB documents for protocol approval, modifications and yearly renewals
Monitors protocol status as it is process through the IRB.
Responsible for conducting training of new protocols and changes to existing protocols.
May provide training to other lab staff as required by the study protocol.

The Research Assistant (RA) provides support to the ClinicalResearch Coordinators (CRCs), Site Manager, Principal and Sub Investigators, and other site staff in compliance with GCP, ICH, HIPAA, FDA Regulations and SOPs. The RA performs clinical, lab, and administrative tasks as needed for the successful operation of the clinicalresearch site.
Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Duties: In collaboration with other members of the clinicalresearch site team, assists with the execution of assigned studies, and support functions as needed. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Under the direction of the Site Manager/Director and the Principal/Sub Investigators, assists the CRCs and other site staff in their responsibilities by conducting the following according to study protocol:
Assists with the basic screening of patients for study enrollment;
Assists with patient follow-up visits;
Documents in source clinic charts;
Enters data in EDC and answers queries;
Obtains vital signs and ECGs;
May perform blood draws;
Perform basic lab procedures per protocol, such as: blood specimen collection, centrifuge operation, storing and shipping of lab specimens, accountability of specimens and notification of courier for specimen pick-up;
Request and track medical record requests;
Enters data in EDC and answers queries;
Assists the CRC with updating and maintaining logs and filing in charts, and with chart filing; and
Schedules subjects for study visits, conducts appointment reminders, and reschedules visits if needed;
Ensures study related reports and patient results are reviewed by the Research Coordinator and/or investigator in a timely manner.
Assists the CRC and/or Manager with study recruitment, patient enrollment, and tracking as needed;
Maintains strict confidentiality of patients, employees, customers and company information at all times and adheres to HIPAA Guidelines; and
Perform all other duties as requested or assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseMinimum Qualifications: A High School diploma and 1 year of administrative / clinical experience is required. 1 year or more years of clinicalresearch or clinical experience is preferred. Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) proficiency is a plus.

Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft applications, email, electronic health records, web applications, and the ability to type proficiently (40+ wpm).
