The Crisis Clinician works with a team to meet and assess needs as people come in the door. The work is varied, there is 24/7 supervision, support and training provided. You will also have the opportunity to partner with and work in our local emergency rooms, juvenile detention and respond to requests for community-based crisis assessments on mental health crisis cases. This position is 50%, working Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. This is a benefited position, and we are able to offer licensure supervision. Wages: Crisis Clinician 1: $29.54 - $39.58 hr Crisis Clinician 2: $35.83 - $48.00 hr GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Crisis Clinician 2: Provide assessments and treatment of individuals and families, including groups; provides crisis assessment and intervention services and related duties as required. Intervene with both children and adults presenting problems covering the full range of personal needs and include thoughts/plans or violence toward others, and major psychiatric illness. Because of the wide spectrum of presenting problems, it is necessary to have a comprehensive knowledge of psychopathology and to be able to draw upon a wide range of therapeutic strategies in counseling. This work is done at multiple locations each day (including Salem, Silverton, and Santiam Hospital Emergency Departments; Juvenile Detention; community outreach and at the Behavioral Health Crisis Center), so driving is required. Assessment of Mental Status Perform independent assessment of mental status, diagnosis, level of functioning, dangerousness, and specific needs for service. Screen individual for psychiatric hospitalization. Planning Development Develop plan with client/family to address immediate needs and plans to obtain services. If client is unwilling to seek services, make decisions regarding involuntary commitment based on dangerousness and ability to care for self. Community Coordination Maintain current knowledge of, and contact with, community agencies in order to make referrals appropriately. See that clients gain access to the services they need, and do follow-up work as needed, to make certain that client's needs are being met. Other * Provide advocacy for client rights, ethical consideration, needs for service and least restrictive care-intervention. * Respond to requests for information regarding clients not currently in the CSS, requiring a thorough knowledge of laws governing the release of confidential information. * Attend monthly BHCC team meeting. * Perform other job duties as assigned by your supervisor. Response Level 2: In the event of an emergency, employee makes a reasonable effort to report to work. Employee may be required to perform duties outside of their regularly assigned duties. Compensation: Our psychologists are compensated on a progressive salary model, with performance based raise eligibility calculated twice during the first year of employment, and annually thereafter. Minimum full time salary is $84,500 annually for maintaining a minimum weekly average of 23 direct contact units. Additional compensation can be provided for supervisory and leadership duties.
