JOB SUMMARY: The social worker provides clinically and culturally competent guidance and teaches skills to individuals, couples, families, and groups who are dealing with issues that affect their mental health and well-being. Provision of emergency crisis evaluations in the emergency department are also a component of the position. Documentation of clinical work is accurate and completed on the same date as service. This individual seeks to improve upon clinical competencies through regular supervision, consultation, and continuing education. The social worker may also perform other duties in the facility as deemed necessary by IFCH management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (ICU Clinical Team Lead/RN)
Is able to perform treatments and provide services and education to level of licensure.
Maintains patient & employee confidentiality at all times.
Serve as a clinical resource to IFCH with patients experiencing mental health crises.
Complete clinical documentation of the patient on the date of service in the electronic health record.
Advocates on behalf of patients and their families to gain access to services and resources.
Provides provider support in complex cases.
Treats Patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
Functions as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.
Participates IFCH ethical meetings.
Assists in placing patients in facilities for inpatient care, working with proper officials for “hold” patients, or Designated Examiners for patients going to State Hospitals for treatment. This includes not just the clinical work but appropriate, accurate and timely sharing of information.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Completion of graduate training at the Masters or Doctorate level in Social Work as well as licensure in their field of study at the LCSW level. Must have current BLS. LMSW and LSW will be considered but LCSW is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two years post graduate clinical experience in providing direct psychotherapy services in individual, couples, family, and group modalities. Same time requirement post graduation for LSW.
Language/Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
Mental Capabilities: Must have the capacity to work with a variety of clientele and conceptualize their concerns accurately during the interactions so as to provide relevant and meaningful clinical interventions specific to their needs.
