The Clinic Care Technician is primarily responsible for providing clinical assistance for patient care. These duties may include greeting and rooming patients, interview patients to obtain a limited medical history and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature), document in patient chart or electronic medical record. This position will also be responsible for stocking and cleaning exam room per clinic and infection control policy, order and maintain clinic lab supplies, and all other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities:


Supports and assists providers and clinical staff with administrative and select patient care tasks. Supports patient scheduling and work queue needs as assigned. Follows up on no-shows and works with providers to review and approve add-ons. Greets patients, supports virtual visits, completes identification verification, height, weight and vision and hearing screening, and informs patients of wait time. Chaperones exams as needed. Administers questionnaires and documents in electronic medical record, enters or edits outside results and prepares patient forms for providers signatures. May perform specific patient care tasks based on training. Processes incoming mail, scans, copies, and faxes as needed, prints and updates forms, answers internal phone calls, and may place office supply orders. Cleans, prepares, organizes and re-stocks clinical areas and maintains supplies. Cleans procedure and exam rooms between patients and at end of day. Stocks and supplies exam rooms, performs regular reviews of expiration dates, and maintains linen levels. Cleans and ensures proper maintenance for equipment as assigned. Performs daily crash cart checks, monitors, and empties sharps containers. Performs routine safety checks on fire extinguishers, safety lights, eye wash stations and oxygen tanks.

The primary pre-analytic responsibility is resolving problems with incoming specimens (e.g., missing, mislabeled, or otherwise discrepant specimens and requisitions/paperwork). This will include gathering the details of the issue, discussing with internal stakeholders, and outlining the plan of action to resolve the issue.TELEPHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE: Initiate calls with clients to clarify test requests, sample identification, and discrepant specimens, requisitions/paperwork.CLINICAL CASE MANAGEMENT: Initiates requests of new samples for specimens deemed unusable for testing due to sample quality, age, or type.OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

Education & Experience:
Veterinary Technician, or Bachelor's degree in a science field

Responsibilities:
Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to RN. Education:
High School Diploma/GED.
Certifications:

Work Experience:
Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at an 8th grade level. One year of recent, full-time patient care experience. Physical Requirements:
Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking. Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
