The Surgery Advanced Practice Clinician works within the department of Surgery, supporting the program by covering all aspects of the surgery program. The APC is part of a team that includes their colleagues, attending physicians, and residents. The APC will provide all aspects of clinical care for patients throughout the continuum. This includes, but is not limited to the Emergency Room, inpatient hospital and Operating Room. The surgical APC interacts with various disciplines within the hospital including consultants in the hospital in an effort to coordinate care. Conducts follow-up calls to consumers of Crisis Intervention services as requested by Clinical Supervisor and in accordance with practice standards. Supports, educates, and assists with training/mentoring other on-call staff responsible for working in the crisis program. Maintains proper documentation of all consumer related contacts and ensures documentation is concise, timely, and congruent with practice standards for crisis service delivery.
