The Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC) provides outpatient counseling services within an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). This role supports individuals recovering from Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) through structured counseling and collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team.

Administrative Support:
Our dedicated administrative staff handles all scheduling, referrals, and authorizations, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality care to your clients. We also ensure ethical caseload requirements for our BCBAs and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and yearly comprehensive assessments (e.g., ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, ABAS-3, caregiver interviews, behavior observations) with support from RBTs.
- Provide direct treatment as needed.
- Provide frequent supervision and direction to supervisees.
- Complete effective and prompt documentation for daily notes, assessments, individual treatment plans, and weekly progress updates.
- Participate in our mentorship network as either a mentee or mentor.
- Provide education and training for caregivers.
- Collaborate with other therapists (OT, PT, SLP, MH)

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following Qualifications:
- Board Certification and licensure to work in North Carolina (candidates who have completed graduate coursework and fieldwork supervision requirements are encouraged to apply)
- Master's degree
- Experience working with neurodivergent populations (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder) or those with developmental disabilities and complex behavioral support needs
- Supervisory experience with RBTs/technicians is preferred.

JOB SUMMARY
The person in this position is responsible for specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents with depression, bipolar, ADHD, and other mental health issues. The person will also be responsible for specific treatment programs for those with self-injurious behavior. Premier Service of Carolina, Inc (PSC) ensures that the Licensed Therapist must meet one of the following licensed discipline categories:
LPC, LCMHC, or LCSW
Main Responsibilities:
Provides psychotherapy services for residents to include individual, family, and group therapy.
Complete Bio-psychosocial evaluations, risk, and psychological assessments as appropriate.
Maintain all documentation according to facility guidelines including progress notes, case management, and individualized service plans.
Attends all treatment teams for assigned clients.
Completes psychosocial assessment within 7 days of admission.
Completes individualized service plans within 24 hours of a treatment team meeting.
Completes and updates all clinical notes within 24 hours after any therapy session, CFT, PCP, etc.
Available for Group Therapy, family involvement, and any other grouped area that may be specific toward the Clients treatment.
Attend and participate in monthly required court hearings.
Skills and Competencies:
Has program and managerial experience in a North Carolina public mental health setting which would provide knowledge of principles and practices of public mental health care, funding streams for such care, and related State and Federal requirements.
Has demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and delegate work of self and others; formulate, explain, and interpret policy; establish priorities; analyze data and make recommendations and evaluations; represent the agency with tact and diplomacy; interact effectively with a wide variety of people, foster cooperative relationships with internal and external personnel including North Carolina Mental Health Departments and other governmental agencies, community, and advocacy groups, consumers, and their families; provide direction to others.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective, cooperative, and productive work relationships with clients, and internal and external personnel.
Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing effectively.
Must possess efficient computer skills.
Must be able to train others.
Must complete all phases of the pre-service orientation and training, including physical restraint training.
Must possess the ability to perform physical restraint techniques.
Position may experience verbal and/or physical aggression from the population.
Must demonstrate availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, emergencies, and extended periods.

Position Summary
The Therapist is responsible for providing individual and group therapy sessions for clients in a specialized Outpatient facility. Position is responsible for assessing the therapeutic needs of the individuals and families, and for developing appropriate treatment. Therapists act as the primary contact for clients and families throughout the treatment process and serve as a client advocate with the treatment team. Position acts as a liaison with referral sources, clinical partners, and individuals to coordinate care throughout the treatment process.

Demonstrates a high level of clinical skill in assessing the clinical needs of clients, determining appropriate interventions, and conducting individual and group therapy sessions in accordance with these needs.
Completes psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans and other reports required for each client in compliance with State, accrediting bodies, quality guidelines and payor source guidelines.
Conducts weekly individual and family therapy sessions for assigned caseload.
Monitors behavioral interventions for each client and provides skills coaching as needed.
Conducts specialized groups as assigned based on education, training, and experience; supervises or co-leads groups with staff or interns when appropriate.
Selects appropriate interventions to meet the clinical needs of individual clients.
Maintains therapeutic relationship with clients using praise and other reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors and attitudes.
Sets limits and hold boundaries in a kind and firm manner.
Demonstrates effective verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation, involving other staff as needed.
Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate client care from admission through discharge.
Attends weekly clinical, consultation and business meetings; present cases to be discussed as pre-assigned.
Completes documentation in a timely and accurate manner reflecting ongoing assessment of client's clinical presentation and behaviors.
Communicates client progress with the referral source, family, parent, or guardian informed of treatment goals and plans, as appropriate.
Documents in accordance with policies and procedures services provided, incident reports, shift reports, or department reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Position requires a master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy or psychology. Must hold or be working toward NC licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMHC). Position requires a minimum of one (1) year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting.
