JOB DESCRIPTION As a Behavioral Health Specialist, one of the key responsibilities is to work alongside the social work team to observe and assess patients' behavior in order to develop and execute treatment plans that effectively manage any behavioral issues they may be experiencing. It's important to provide ongoing support throughout the entire treatment process, including communicating with patients' teachers, caregivers, and families to implement treatment plans and address any concerns that may arise. DUTIES Managing participant's behavioral health, by conducting thorough assessments to determine their needs, preferences, and goals. This information can then be used in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop discipline-specific goals and interventions that are tailored to each individual. These meetings are actively participated in to ensure that all aspects of the participants' care are being considered and addressed. Deliver and document behavioral health interventions as agreed upon in the participants' care plans, including but not limited to symptom management, counseling, crisis intervention, arranging necessary resources and services, assisting with the care transitions, providing individual and group counseling, and care management. Facilitate individual and group therapies in various forms as appropriate such as art and music therapy, psychosocial drama, counseling, and discussion that restores or expands participants' social roles. Mental Health Clinician I - Recovery (229) Hanford, CA Under clinical supervision, the Mental Health Clinician I, provides mental health direct services in an outpatient setting that includes individual therapy, intake assessments, and facilitating skills classes/groups for the Recovery Oriented level of care. Direct services are provided for adult consumers of the Kings County area, including some travel to Avenal, Corcoran, or Kettleman City. Under the direction of the Facility Administrator (FA) or higher licensed medical professional, the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) will be responsible for providing diagnostic evaluations and therapy counseling using applied psychotherapy of a non-medical nature to persons served in compliance with all applicable LCSW/LMFT standards, state and federal rules and regulations. JOB RELATIONSHIPS REPORTS TO: Mental Health Director SUPERVISES: None DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Triages and conducts intakes, evaluations and/or assessments on patients admitted to outpatient housing unit and/or referred by Security, Healthcare staff, and other Community sources and makes appropriate recommendations to the healthcare unit and security staff regarding the direction or required level of care Refer all 5150 eligible persons served to the County Mental Health and/or Emergency Room for evaluation Recommends special housing or special watch and/or observations to security based on clinical findings Identifies and conducts other essential treatment services such as, psychoeducational groups, art therapy, pre-release counseling and other transitional groups, when appropriate or when applicable Recommends and provides treatment plans, such as other non-pharmacological treatments or services such as group or individual therapy, when appropriate, for persons served on his/her caseload and in all areas of the correctional facility with regular updates when needed When applicable, initiates involuntary hospitalization for those persons served who need to be transferred to outside Mental Health facilities and generates appropriate paperwork relevant to the hospitalization Assesses for Suicide Ideation and provides suicide intervention and management of suicidal and high-risk persons served Conducts daily rounds and evaluations to assess the treatment needs of persons served that request or desire mental health services within the correctional facility setting Hold daily sick call, evaluate patients, obtain medication history, verify current medication consult with medical provider/psychiatrist to continue psychotropic medications, and discuss conditions falling outside protocol perimeters Recommends medication evaluations to the MD when necessary and coordinates closely with the Psychiatrist to ensure that persons served requiring evaluation or re-evaluation for medication are seen in a timely manner and the Prescriber is aware of any information pertinent to the patient's clinical condition Upon receiving the necessary training and/or instruction, performs other related duties as required or assigned. Requirements PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Master's degree in social work/Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited college or university. EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience providing treatment to adults and/or youth with various mental health disabilities required, experience with Crisis/Risk Management, advanced knowledge of assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, discharge planning and excellent documentation skills CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: • Current (and must maintain) unrestricted LCSW/LMFT license in state of practice, current CPR Certification.

Duties and Responsibilities: Give basic level of general behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to mentally or developmentally disabled patient/youth. Conduct daily clinical rounds and monitoring of patient/youth with signs and symptoms of mental illness. Under general supervision of Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Doctor (MD), perform psychiatric nursing procedures, such as administer medications and treatments, including hypodermic injections, take and chart temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respiration, and all other basic general nursing procedures within the scope of licensure. Work is other disciplines as part of Treatment Team in the development of treatment plans and objectives from assessments in providing an overall treatment program for patient/youth. Assist in the development of group and individual therapy regimens. Act as a provider of group therapy to patient/youth. Provide liaison activities with custody personnel in management of mentally or developmentally disabled patient/youth. Observe patients'/youth's physical condition and behavior, and report significant changes. Prepare and coordinate clinical appointment dates and times, and assist in having patient/youth present at their clinical appointments. Assist in first responder duties, such as giving Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and first aid as needed. Help maintain safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for patient/youth. Follow state and federal mandated standards and procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY Therapists are responsible for coordinating and providing individual, group therapy and biopsychosocial assessment services to patients as well as group, individual and family counseling for patients within the facility. BLOOD/FLUID EXPOSURE RISK: Some job tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissue. Staff must wear gloves and follow infectious control procedures when interacting with clients in conditions in which exposure is possible such as handling onsite urinary analysis, conducting first aid, and conducting search of client's belonging and person. Staff may be exposed to infectious disease, needles, and illicit substances during searches. Work Schedule: As a non-exempt hourly employee, the employee shall work a designated schedule as assigned by management. Employee shall not work over 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week without prior authorization from management but if so, will earn overtime for any work performed in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Employee must also follow company's policies regarding required meals and breaks.
