POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Residential Manager, the Behavioral Health Technician will perform designated non-clinical tasks that promote the overall health and well-being for both inpatient and outpatient clients. Provide exceptional direct and supportive services to include crisis management, assist with therapeutic activities and the facilitation of groups. These duties will be performed in a highly professional and enthusiastic manner in direct alignment with the mission, vision and values of Queen of Peace Center.
CORE FUNCTIONS

Assist clients in meeting goals as developed by the treatment team.
Provide continuous supervision of clients ensuring compliance with scheduled services
Complete intake, orientation, explain rules, complete introductions to encourage participation
Complete safety check of client's personal belongings
Maintain confidentiality as dictated by HIPAA
Monitor/Supervise client participation in assigned activities/requirements
Answer phones professionally
Document any and all concerns related to clients behavior in daily shift log and in Electronic Health Record and communicate to proper staff members
Maintain a clean and safe environment in addition to supervising chores
Monitor vital signs as required
Serve as a positive role model
Complete documentation of group logs and following safety and programmatic protocols
Adhere to medication policies and work collaboratively with nursing staff to ensure all medication protocols are followed and charted accurately and appropriately
Complete daily progress notes for each client within program guidelines
Facilitate assigned and scheduled groups as requested
Screen and monitor detoxification clients
Maintain licensure (LIMA, CPR, FA)

Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED or an Associate's degree in human services or other related field preferred
CPR/First Aid and Med-Level 1 Certification

This is a part-time position and this position is not a part of the James River Weekday Preschool.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
Classroom Duties:
Function as Room leader or Assistant leader as directed.
Make sure the room is clean, stocked, and in order.
Always leave the room better than you found it.
Oversee the classroom (keep class on the schedule, make sure diapers are changed, that kids go to the bathroom, etc.).
Implement the schedule/curriculum in your classroom.
Assist parents with dropping off or picking up children.
Comply with all James River Kids' Policies and Procedures.
Two workers must be present in a room, at all times, including during regular childcare and events.
Injuries must be immediately reported to the Coach or Coordinator.
You are Security!!
Make sure each child has a computer-generated name tag and that parents fill out the sign-in sheet upon arrival to your class. List any allergies clearly.
At pick-up, verify that the number on the parent claim tag and the child's sticker match.
Please contact the Coordinator/Coach if there are any questions or issues.
Use the sign-in sheet in the room for attendance. Add any additional notes on the whiteboard on the wall. Add and subtract kids as they come and go. Sign-in sheets must always be with you if your class travels.
Dress Code:
A James River staff badge must be worn at all times.
Clothing must be modest, clean, and appropriate for childcare. Pants worn below the knee are required.
Absenteeism:
Contact the Coordinator as soon as possible if you are sick and unable to work.
Time off should be requested two weeks in advance of the absence.
If absenteeism is affecting your ministry team, a meeting will be scheduled with the Event Childcare Coordinator and the Early Childhood Director.

Job DescriptionCrisis Intervention Specialist - Tier 4 Reports ToDirector of Client Access Job PurposeThe Crisis Intervention Counselor is a key member of a multidisciplinary team providing timely, compassionate, and trauma-informed crisis response services via phone and mobile outreach. This role ensures individuals experiencing behavioral health crises receive appropriate, person-centered support 24/7.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver trauma-informed crisis intervention and prevention services in diverse community settings, including hospitals, jails, and private residences.
Provide crisis counseling, case coordination, consultation, pre-admission screening, and support with transportation and documentation.
Collaborate with law enforcement, healthcare providers, outpatient clinics, and other community partners to ensure coordinated care and safety.
Maintain and update the Crisis Resource Directory to support efficient service delivery.
Offer education, emotional support, and service navigation to family members and significant others of individuals receiving crisis services.
Respond promptly to crisis contacts, including phone and walk-in inquiries.
Serve as a notary during crisis events when needed.
Stay informed on legal procedures related to involuntary detention and ensure compliance.
Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Chief Executive Officer.
QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Specialized Knowledge: Understanding of trauma-informed care principles, crisis response protocols, and legal considerations in behavioral health.
Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations; culturally responsive and empathetic approach.
Experience: Credentialed Peer Provider. Lived experience with a behavioral health disorder, high school diploma or equivalent and certified by the Missouri Credentialing Board as a certified peer specialist or certified family support provider.
Qualifying applicants include: Certified Peer Specialist, Youth Peer Specialist, Certified Reciprocal Peer Recovery (CRPR) or a Certified Family Support Provider.
*Salary is based on education, experience, and applicable shift differentials.
Working ConditionsGeneral: The day-to-day schedule requires flexibility and includes both in-office work and responsibilities carried out in diverse community settings.
Special: Frequent travel to community locations is required. Must be able to tolerate environments with smoke, pets, and varied home conditions.
Physical RequirementsGeneral: Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods. Travel may involve long hours in a vehicle. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds) may be required.
Special: Must be able to enter and navigate homes and buildings of various configurations.
