Position Summary
The Residential Therapist (PRN) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of inpatient, continuing care and family services. This includes providing clinical support to other staff members, conducting interventions, conducting psychosocial assessments, developing the resident's treatment plan, conducting group, individual and family therapy.
Job Duties:
Monitors adherence to the program schedule and assists the multidisciplinary team in coordinating the resident's care.
Attends and assists in treatment team meetings and clinical staffing meetings.
Participates in group and individual supervision.
Communicates with unit staff regarding resident's progress.
Provides admissions personnel with ongoing admissions and discharge information.
Participates in AMA prevention and intervention activities.
Completes an initial bonding session with the resident within 24 hours of admission or by the next business day.
Conducts emotional, behavioral and social assessment within 7 days of admission, and determines what, if any, further assessments are needed (psychological, vocational, etc.).

Provides MFLC response to critical incidents, surge and on demand events, and special requests as directed by the POC and approved by the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) program manager. Counselor will flex schedule to respond to urgent requests as needed or at the request of the Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.
Manages duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol and staffs the cases with Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.
Communicates with Regional Supervisors and participates in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations to which the counselor is assigned.
Participates in regular in-services/training, Quality Improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate.
Participates in initiatives, studies, and pilot programs as directed by the customer and/or Magellan. This includes participation in pilot program certification and training processes, completion of activity documentation, integration of pilot activities in non-medical counseling work, and the utilization of applicable technology to complete required activities.

Requirements
Required:
Active CSAC credential in Virginia
Experience providing individual and group counseling
Knowledge of substance use disorders, addiction recovery, relapse prevention, and trauma-informed care
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Strong Technology Skills
Must be able to pass a Drug Screen and Background check
Preferred:
Outpatient substance use treatment experience
Familiarity with EHR systems
Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs
Experience coordinating care and community referrals
BLS/CPR is a bonus

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience
