Clinton City Schools company history timeline

1962

The county in 1962 built a new Clinton High School on Lakeview Street and moved grades 9-12 from the College Street campus to the new school.

1980

Beginning with the 1980-81 school year, Sumner Hill and Lovett schools joined CPSD and became separate schools for grades 9 and 6, respectively.

2007

A new Clinton Park Elementary opened on Arrow Drive in 2007 and the old building on Old Vicksburg Road was demolished and removed.

2019

With the most recent bond issue in 2019, CPSD is moving forward with construction of new Career and Technical Education facilities at Clinton High School, renovations at Clinton Junior High and other improvements and expansions throughout the district.
