TRIO is designed specifically for students who are first generation college students, were in foster care, are from a low-income family or have been out of school for at least five years. TRIO students receive financial aid as well as additional academic support. For admissions, prospective students must submit an application, transcripts and ACT scores, if available. Those who received a score of at least 26 on the ACT automatically receive a tuition scholarship. Other sources of financial aid include federal sources like Pell grants, work-study and loans. These sources of aid are based almost completely on financial need.
