About the role
The Places Team at Cloudflare is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Office Operations Manager to lead and elevate the day-to-day operations of our brand-new New York office. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for creating a smooth, welcoming, and highly functional workplace-partnering with global counterparts to share best practices and continuously enhance our spaces.
You'll gather feedback from employees and guests to shape how the office evolves, contribute to future buildouts, and collaborate with teams across IT, Legal, Physical Security, EBC, and more. You're comfortable navigating fast-paced environments, solving problems on the fly, and thinking creatively about how to improve systems and experiences. With a hospitality mindset and strong communication skills, you take pride in delivering excellent service and building a space that reflects our culture and values.

What you'll do
Workplace Experience:
Ensure our office is a functional, inspiring hub that reflects our culture and supports hybrid work. Act as the first point of contact for employee workplace needs, solving issues quickly and thoughtfully.
Stay Connected Across Channels:
Maintain clear, responsive communication with the local team across platforms like chat, email, and in-person touchpoints-ensuring everyone stays informed, supported, and aligned on workplace updates and needs.
Track and Report Workplace Metrics:
Monitor key data points such as space utilization, occupancy, and service ticket volume to support data-driven decision-making and long-term planning.
Support Workplace Programs:
Help drive local implementation of global workplace programs-from our food program (think snack stocking, team lunches, and special food moments) and sustainability initiatives to employee engagement efforts.
Support Internal Events & Experiences:
Plan and execute a range of onsite events-including team onsites, in-person weeks, executive briefings, customer meetings, and cultural moments-both independently and in collaboration with the Global Events & Experiences team, ensuring each gathering is seamless, engaging, and reflective of our culture.
Safety & Compliance:
Partner with Security and Legal teams to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. Support emergency preparedness efforts, safety drills, and incident response protocols.
Scale Smartly
: As the office grows, help onboard new team members, support hiring needs for workplace roles, and participate in long-term workplace planning
Support the Regional Places Team:
Assist with administrative tasks such as responding to tickets, managing emails and inquiries, and providing holiday coverage to ensure seamless team operations across regions.
Lead Onsite Operations:
Own the day-to-day management of the workplace-from front desk services, greeting guests/employees/visiting employees, and mail handling to office supplies, swag, deliveries, and space readiness. You'll make sure everything flows, looks great, and feels seamless for employees and visitors alike.
Be the go-to for Vendors and Places Team:
Liaise with building management, building security, and external vendors (cleaning crews, caterers, property managers, etc.) to keep our operations running efficiently. Oversee vendor performance and contracts, lead RFPs when needed, and track workplace budgets responsibly.

About the role:
Cloudflare is looking for an EMEA Benefits Manager to join our global Total Rewards team. Reporting to the Director, Head of Global Benefits, you will serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader for benefits in our EMEA region, including UK, France, Germany, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, UAE, Sweden, Switzerland.
What you'll do:
Manage and lead existing benefit programs (e.g., health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, workers comp, travel and accident, retirement and other plans) - including new plan implementation, end-to-end contracting, etc. - while aligning regional benefits strategy to the department's global direction.
Work cross-functionally to introduce, maintain and improve end-to-end benefits management processes in the region and to harmonize policies and processes globally, where applicable.
Ensure that all benefits programs are designed to resonate to hire and attract talent; reflect legal and business requirements; are competitive with our known benchmarking peers, and can be sourced locally (when needed).
Lead the design of new benefit programs/proposals that align to Cloudflare's Global Benefits Strategy, new country expansion activities, market practice, benchmarking, and local regulatory/compliance requirements.
Manage and monitor regional benefit program costs; develop and manage annual renewals, including associated annual regional budget and cost impact analysis; ensure programs evolve in line with headcount increases, market trends, employee needs and ROI.
Review proposals with internal stakeholders to receive input and feedback on recommendations, including the taxability of proposed benefit programs.
Collaborate with the Global Head of Benefits to design and implement effective structure for a new global/regional benefits broker and consultant model.

Requirements for this role
First and foremost curiosity and critical thinking
Experience (and love for) debugging complex distributed systems
Experience with a continuous integration workflow and using source control (we use git)
Experience with build and maintain distributed systems
Understanding of what it takes to build secure systems
Ability to work in multiple systems level programming languages - bonus points for Go and/or Rust
Experience with monitoring, alerting and debugging high volume production systems
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
Minimum 4 years professional experience as a developer/engineer
Solid grasp of how TCP/QUIC and HTTP work
Experience with Linux networking
Understanding systems at the network protocol level, including the differences between what the specs say, and what actually happens on the Internet
Strong systems level programming skills
Experience with databases similar to PostgreSQL and Clickhouse
Good Unix knowledge, having submitted patches to Operating Systems a huge plus for some roles
Fluent in analyses of large data sets
BA/BS or higher in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent professional experience
