Salary Range: $79,300 - $93,300 A Day in the Life * Initiate and direct the development of, and adherence to, food safety practices and procedures and assume ultimate responsibility for plant housekeeping and safety. * Demonstrate leadership and judgment consistent with company philosophy, goals and objectives. * Monitor actual versus planned performance of manufacturing departments; pursue and implement remedies to problems. This position provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for all end users, covering desktop systems, printers, copiers, mobile devices, and critical production systems, including Route Accounting, and Warehouse Mobility technologies. The FSQA manager works directly with processing plant operations shift manager and independently with limited oversight from FSQA manager to ensure compliance with Foster Farms, FSIS/USDA, and customer requirements on assigned shift. Directs, oversees, and implements the Food Safety and Product Quality (FSQC) programs for a specific Foster Farms food manufacturing site to ensure product safety, legality, and quality across multiple plant processes including first processing and second processing for both retail and food service operations. Responsible for the management and development of supervisory and/or hourly FSQC personnel to achieve departmental goals. This position is intended as developmental training for further FSQC Manager responsibilities. It involves tactical supervision of a large team of employees and FSQC programs, but also more strategic activities and independent decision-making than a Supervisor or Assistant Manager position. This position has the authority to release or retain product on hold for quality or regulatory concerns, thus sound judgment in rendering a product as wholesome or unwholesome is required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: At assigned food manufacturing facility, responsible for the implementation, verification, and validation of Food Safety programs such as HACCP plans, SSOP compliance, ensuring adherence with audit standards such as BRC and managing regulatory relationship with local USDA/FSIS. Ensure operations management team and hourly employees are compliant with food safety and quality procedures. This includes direct observation of processes, as well as training as needed of production, sanitation, maintenance and quality control groups. Manage the implementation, maintenance, evaluation, and enforcement of FSIS/USDA regulations, as well as corporate programs (pest control, allergen, product quality). These monitoring programs have both legal (FSIS requirements) and customer implications. Pursuant to monitoring results, address processing, sanitation and maintenance-related issues in a timely manner via FSQC/Operations combined approach. This position is authorized to place non-conforming product on FSQC hold if it does not meet Foster Farms standards, customer expectations, or legal requirements. In addition, this position has authority to render decisions regarding product disposition, including release or disposal of product. Hire and lead procedural, regulatory and food safety training for FSQC supervisors and hourly technicians to ensure high levels of competency, commitment and performance. Job Description Pay Range from $128,750 to $160,950 Provide assistance and support to the Cherry Complex in the development and administration of Foster Farms Health & Safety and Property Conservation Programs. Assist organization in the pursuit of an injury-free work environment. Reports to Operations Manager with dotted line to the Cherry plant manager. Provide guidance to the management staff in regulatory compliance with federal and state safety regulations as well as company directions. Develop and maintain site specific safety programs, including co-ordination of all safety committees and co-ordinate all safety training for management and hourly employees. Conduct safety and fire audits of all facilities and give feedback to all appropriate management. Lead emergency on site response by creating/maintaining emergency response plans, co-coordinating practices and maintaining expect knowledge of site hazards and tools/equipment/practices necessary for response. Create and distribute reports showing current status, trends, concerns and other statistical data. Supervise annual facility evacuation and Emergency Response exercises in conjunction with site management and security Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Safety or related field (ASP or CSP preferred) 3-5 years health and safety related experience Education and experience that clearly indicates the existence of specialized knowledge in 5 or more of the following specialties: Ergonomics Fall production Confined spaces Respiratory protection Electrical safety Lockout/tagout Process safety management Knowledge of Cal/OSHA, Fed/OSHA and UFC rules and standards Exceptional leadership and people-management skills Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in both individual and team work settings with minimum supervision Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
